Bex--is the character going to be burned TO DEATH? or suffer from extensive burns?

Just from doing wound care, I can tell you that burns are pretty much the most painful thing you can ever experience. Burn victims are in so much agony, it's just awful. They're drugged to the gills, and it barely does anything for them. So, yeah, searing, horrible pain. Bc your skin is like one giant sensory organ.

Forsaken---oh, no! (((hugs))) I hope your doggy is okay! And, if it is cancer--just so you know, dogs can live quite awhile with lung mets sometimes. So don't freak out yet. My first dog got osteosarcoma--a really bad bone cancer--at age 11. It spread to her lungs, but those really didn't bother her at all.

I'm trying to give details, but not be disgusting about it. (If that makes any sense.) Like, he/she is in pain and I have to show it. But I don't want to be like, "He/She's flesh melts off, which looks like clumps of butchered ham." Or some shit.

What does she see? Burnt flesh, flames etc.?
Taste? An acrid poisonous flavour?
Hear? A raging whoosh as her clothes catch fire, crackling pops as the beads of her necklace explode?
Smell? The sickeningly sweet scent of burning flesh?
Feel? Searing pain!!

The more sensations you can incorporate, the more a reader can experience through your characters POV, I think. Not that I've ever been burned to death, though, so whaddoiknow? :Shrug:

I've done the see, taste, hear and feel. Not the smell, though. I'll have to work on that. Thanks!
