Okay, working on a new short, and I'm not sure what to categorize it as (thinking ahead to betaing, et cetera). More specifically, I know how I would categorize it, but I have a hunch more than a few people would disagree.
Should I stick to my guns and call it as I see it, or go with what seems like the more productive genre will be even if I disagree?
(For reference, it's a question of fantasy vs. interstitial, and I call it fantasy.)

I was more worried that by labeling it 'fantasy' it'd end up setting up false expectations when the time came to have it critted--I wasn't really thinking ahead to the submission phase yet. (As far as that goes-- I have a sneaking suspicion there are markets that would accept 'interstitial' work that would never touch any sort of genre fiction otherwise, but maybe that's just me...)
