Oh you poor thing. I hope you feel better soon. I had it a year ago. I won't tell you how long it lasted, too depressing. But I swear, it WILL end! Get as much rest as you can. Hope the kids are doing better. :Hug2:

Oh, and :e2fairy: pixie dust. :)

Boy this illness had taken a wrong turn in the past couple of days, breathing has become so hard. I hope my lungs don't shut down because of the asthma. I just lay down and do as little as possible. I guess I have to go back to the doc when pay day rolls around.

Sure is nice to have you all to talk to and cheer me up. It gives me something to look forward to. I'm not sure why, but it does seem that I have picked up every germ and virus that has floated through my city since last November except for Swine. I got a shot for that. :) I knew my bad lungs wouldn't survive it.

Heyjude, I am prepared to hear how long you were sick. At least it'll give me something to look forward to in the coming weeks; an ending to this misery.

Thanks for wanding me! :D

Three months. :( And that was the full-force hacking. Took a while to really get over it. Maybe six months, total? Hard on me--I'm an avid worker-outter, and it's possible I made it worse by trying to work out too soon.

Moral of the story? Sit back, relax, and eat as much chocolate as you can! :D

Seriously, I know it's no fun. Especially with kids. I feel for you. Take good care of yourself! No, forget that. Let your support team take good care of you!

Holy crap, and here I thought the adult Whooping Cough vaccine commercials were another way to get around the parents not vaccinating their kids for fear of Austism, even though that's been disproved.

okay! perhaps the worst of it will be over in 4 more weeks. If I can remain out of bed for the remaining 3 months and just not feel sick then I can deal with that.

Going to See's...

I'm sorry to hear it's not getting better. I got whooping cough twice as a small child, despite vaccinations, and my little brother caught it from me. No long term harm done, fortunately!

Revaccinating as an adult sounds like a great idea.

I just talked to the Health Department yesterday and Pertussis is very under reported and going undiagnosed in a large number of people here in California. The woman told me that I got it bad because I was not immunized as a child. My kids did better because they were immunized. I'm still sick with this 8.3 weeks later but it is getting better just very slowly and it doesn't help that I have asthma too.

Here's my suggestion to everyone I love. Get the DPT shot and immunize your child or this is going to get bad and babies are going to die. And don't let anybody tell you this is just a bad cough. It's a germ and a dangerous one and it's highly, highly communicable. All a person has to do is talk to you from three feet away and if they're infected so are you now. They don't even have to cough. When you have it you think you're coming down with a cold and you come near a baby. You don't cough but the baby breaths in your micro droplets and now has it too.

A friend of a friend had Scarlet Fever 6 months ago. Some germs just never die do they? It's because of the Immunization-Autism epidemic. I would be scared too. But now diseases that were controlled are now on the rise.

I think our government is hiding something.
