My boys are getting HUGE - Davy is nearly as tall as me now, 6 feet tall at age 12!! Gads. The buffalo story was magical - truly magical!

We waited for four days for the city to open up, but then they started talking about closing the city we were waiting in! We hightailed it out of there and headed east to the Amazon basin, where we are now. It will end up being a 700-km detour by the time we finally get south, but I guess that's not so bad. As it turned out, they resolved the strike 3 days after we hit the road - had we waited we could have continued through the mountains like we had wanted.

Thanks Mike! We are having the time of our lives - another 6 or 7 months and then what??? Although Iエm excited to reach our goal, I'll be really sad too.
