Your mission:

Write a short story (or scene, or poem, or anything that involves a bunch of words strung together in a literary fashion) that includes each of the following in some way:

1. Rain (because it's April Showers time!)
2. A too-small and/or broken umbrella
3. Some reference to Sally's steamboat OR timp's dirigible.

Have fun. :D

Looking forward to having a go at this...but what is 'Sally's steamboat' or 'timp's dirigible'?

They're references to kidlit inside jokes (and the AW steampunk theme), but they can be whatever you want them to be. :)

You can have a real steamboat or dirigible, or kids playing a new game involving a steamboat or dirigible, or a picture of a steamboat or dirigible, or a song in the "Sally has a steamboat, the steamboat had a bell..." format.

Wherever your imagination takes you. The sky's the limit (especially if you're riding in timp's dirigible!). :)

Google is my friend! I've never heard the term 'dirigible' and I didn't know the song you mention, although I know what a steamboat is :)

i'm not sure anything happening in Sally's steamboat is going to be appropriate for an MG audience...

timp's dirigible seems safe enough. except for the whole down/up OMG I'm gonna barf confusion thing.

Oh, and when you post your response in SYW, remember to leave a note in this thread telling us it's there. I don't want to miss it. :)

Thanks Smish, my prompt idea came to mind last night and I'm going to start working on it today, between actually trying to work at looking like I'm working.

I've posted my response for this month. I went with the steamboat in the end mainly due to my ignorance as to what a dirigible was/is :)

I posted one as well, though my use of the prompts was sketchy at best. My brain is stuck at the moment.
