That's the Old Fart's Bar for you. The pun never ends.

Unlike your cold, which I hope ends very soon.

A dark, evil place.
It's Memorial Day and I'm remembering Dell.

WHERE'S DELL?????
Del's been flying around a bit lately, scoping out the trash food in other neighborhoods. I expect he'll be along directly. Or indirectly.

Chicken... er... gull soup? Looks like an awfully thick broth.

I had Vietnamese beef soup today for lunch and supper. Between that, the constant mugs of tea, and brandy I've got this virus on the ropes.

**cough, cough, hack, wheeze**

Ahhhhhhh...Ok. Note to self: Read instructions.

I thought I had to have a certain number of posts to be able to use attachments. NOW I see what to do. (Rubs hands together sinisterly.)

Never been good at instructions, which probably 'splains why the first bicycle I built ended up looking more like a large eggbeater.

Hope everyone had a good holiday, recovered from their colds, and aged gracefully a few more days over the weekend.

The Memorial Day parade here was the usual Punkin Junction turn-out. All the baseball kids, soccer kids, and T-ball kids were towed through town on trucks, trailers, wagons, and floats. They tossed out so much candy, the kids on the sides of the road were throwing it back. When I was a kid, I didn't think there was that much candy in the world.

We went to the pancake breakfast at the fire house. The Lions Club turned that whole operation over to the firemen this year. I think the Lions were slightly better cooks, but hey, this is the firemen's first whack at it. They will improve. The local politicians were all there, schmoozing the electorate and kissing babies.

At 10:20, we were supposed to get a fly-over by the Blue Angels. I kept an eye peeled for it. All I saw was the standard Punkin Junction fly-over: two turkey buzzards and a tufted titmouse.

With the weather being what it is, it too early the the Blue Angels to flying north. Better luck next year

Remember when we MARCHED (ok, walked, stumbled, meandered) in parades like this instead lyof riding on poor decorated flatbed trucks?,

It's Tuesday. Shouldn't more of the old farts be recovered from the weekend and finding their keyboards by now?

*sigh*

I had to delete my original post because I didn't read all the way to the end and um.....never mind.

I do fit this over 50 thingy though. I don't remember much, but I remember smoking um funny cigarettes and getting gas for 50 cents. Gad that was a hundred years ago or so...1972 or 73. wow

Yeah, we did hoof it through the parades. Problem is, today the kids get winded, walking that far. Make a kid walk a mile today and you get put in the pokey for child endangerment.

Okay, reporting in.
Just got back from sonogram and OB exam. Mom and baby doing fine. Gonna be a tall kid! We're having a baby girl! We're thinking of naming her Laverne11, Gail, Synergy (Synonym is taken), Beatrix or Jennifer. The Mommy nixed Haggis, Porter, Bryce, Del and Cray. The middle name, Gull, is out too.

First time actually. Never changed a diaper in my life - Depends® doesn't count, does it?
