Hands up, anyone who recognizes Venus as a legitimate part of the Turtles canon...

You know, I actually enjoyed the recent CGI film. It felt more attune to the comics. The first live-action was decent too. Shredder the Badass was always better than Shredder the Bumbling Fool (same goes for Cobra Commander).

Badass will always be better than Bumbling Fool. A hero is only as good as the villain he defeats, after all.

And, yeah, I liked the recent CGI too. It was a little closer to the original comics, which was a nice change to the franchise.

LOL!

I remember the original comic books. I remember the original cartoon adaptation (totally different, but still fun), which lead to the first set of live-action movies and even the musical tour before the recent reinvention.

It's one of the advantages of being old. ;)

Yeah, I like the cartoon, Clang, and Shredder, the Foot... It was good. The movies were good too - #1 being the best. Now I don't know what they've done. They seemed a little dumb the last few years...

Too much flash. Not enough plot. And cyberspace???

I haven't seen anything outside of the CGI movie since my son grew out of it, so I'm not sure what you're talking about with cyberspace, sorry.

I should get off and get my housework done so I can get some writing in.... I should. Wonder if I will.

Oh, the Ninja Turtles cartoon had them going into cyberspace - all decked out in tchno gear and fighting germs or cyber monster or something. It was odd... that's all I can say.

Bye :hi: Oops, thought you said you were going... sorry

The one I truly loved was Batman: The Animated Series...

By the way, I am on my third draft of my Antho sub, it's on SYW if anyone is interested...

Oh I loved them, and still hum the theme-song frequently... :D

Yeah, I'm like that.

I like tiny toons too - with Elmyra... sqwishing poor helpless animals - Yeah maybe I should go back to the horror thread now....

*snerk*

ETA : fell in love with my SciFi trilogy again... so I am working on it once more. *sigh* Maybe I'll get more than a few agents wanting to see it this time. Huh, maybe they'll actually want to read the whole thing. **One can dream right**

So... they took out the tooth/teeth? did you feel like a vampire when you woke up?? :D

That's an interesting story fodder -- a vampire who gets his fangs forcibly removed.

"Buht Doktor -- HOW VILL I SURVIVE?!?"

I 100% agree about being able to read the "so close but didn't make it" entries. My only hesitation is linking them to SYW. Honestly, if my story didn't make it, I'd be okay with Cantinaities reading and snickering, but if I wanted the SYW crew to chew it up, I'd sub it there beforehand.

But yeah, I wanna see what youse all are writificating.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees.

Hands up, anyone who recognizes Venus as a legitimate part of the Turtles canon...

You could do a whole story arc about how he/she is then forced into a life of crime, robbing blood banks etc, simply to stay alive while plotting his/her revenge....

Venus De Milo from the live action series - I doubt anybody is going to admit to watching it though... Well, except me. :D

Was the female turtle - the other one in the blue mask in the 90's???

She was their cousin, right... ???

Hellooo...

Strangely alluring (in a disturbing way), she was mentioned as the turtles cousin, but the actual relationship - as detailed in the first two episodes - isn't explicit. They're all turtles from the same shop, but I'm not sure they ever said the turtles were related. And I may have spent way too much time thinking about this...

Dudes. I grew up on Bugs Bunny, the Road Runner, and Daffy.

Had a brief foray into Transformers when I babysat some kids for a few years

Came across Wolverine and Dead Pool when I had a crush on a boy who read said comicbooks. Still luv the Pool.

The rest of these conversations is just jaba jaba jaba jaba

and the best Turtle thing done so far, IMO, was that and the Turtle cross-over movie which took on all the TMNT incarnations as sort of dimensional counterparts. The best part was when Eastman and Laird's comic version showed up and basically horrified the original 80's cartoon version.

Sort of like Frank Miller's Batman (as in TDKR, not All-Star bats*** insane bats) meeting Adam West's Batman.

:D

Have you seen any of these, by chance?

Some Random Guy seriously adores the Pool. :D

I seriously want to see this one. Seriously. Do you have the title or anything?

Turtles Forever

Based around the more recent cartoon, which was darker and edgier™ than the 80's version... but still not as dark as the comics.

:D

ETA: Also, TVTropes sums it up nicely.

The Comic Turtles, mock the other sets of Turtles appearance-wise and character-wise.

Mirage (comics) Michelangelo: So you're supposed to be us, from other worlds. *beat* I don't see it.
