But do you not find when you centre it isn't actually centred because it's taking the indent with it?

Huh, no, I haven't, actually. It always looks centered to me. I just highlight the *** itself, maybe that's why? (Don't know if you're highlighting the indent too or the whole line or...)

But then, I don't worry about it too much because when the book is typeset (or whatever it's called when they do it digitally) they're going to fix all that anyway.

I'm surprised that after 20 posts no one has mentioned the easiest way to do all this.

Actually, no offense but I'm pretty sure I did. (Granted, I had him hit the space bar in the "Replace With" line, but the rest was the same.)

Just made myself three styles. Centre, regular, and indent, all following each other. Thanks guys.

We can't just use tab?

I suddenly have the sinking feeling I've been missing something...

Smashwords meatgrinder hates tab.

Smashwords is a good way to submit an ebook title to various vendors (Amazon Kindle, B&N Nook, Apple iBooks, etc...). Their Autovetter program is great for checking out the format of your ebook whether you submit thru them or not.

It takes a significant investment of your time to learn about paragraph styles, but IMHO, that time is well spent.
