"Etola," from what I understand, is an Iroquois word, and since I don't know anything about that language, I don't know how they masculinize words or even if they do have a lingual masculine/feminine. So I went the Latin way :)

Iroquois is actually a language family, with six (I think) different subsets for the individiual nations that made up the iroquois League. So you'd need to know which of those it was.

I *think* - and this is just a vague, back of the head notion here - that there is a linguistic gender distinction in their languages, but that's the best i could say. Though now that my curiosity is aroused, i want to look into it.

What does it translate to?

Oh, and that was the sound of finishing the Big Climactic Ending and Epiloge of a WIP. Course, it's only 30% complete, but at least I got down on paper the Things That Need to Happen at The End.

Now to write all that bothersome Middle Section and Actual Plot Development crap.
*cough* use a Gantt chart to work out the plot it's so much easier *cough*

Seriously, guys, my awesome plotting method needs to catch on and become a thing.

I don't know what Gantt chart is, but anything that sounds like I'd need to scrape it off the side of a space-cruiser is, well, not encouraging.

Then I wanted to be strabbed to the SRB of the Space Shuttle and vaporized on take-off.

Too bad Space Bat beat you to it...

Woot! Good luck!!

It was my great-grandmother's name (she was part Iroquois), and supposedly it translates to "Morning star". However, never having been able to learn much about the Iroquois language(s), I have never been able to confirm that. Though I should like to, should I ever have the opportunity.

Hmm...never thought of using a Gantt chart. For my current WIP, I used a large white board timeline with post-it notes. I found it handy because I could move things around physically until I got them where I wanted them to be.

True...Because my friends all sleep, and if they don't sleep...eh, I'll leave it at that :D
DAMN YOU ALL.
That's going to be stuck in my head ALL effin' day...

Anyone have the equivalent of an X-wing hanging around? Otherwise, I think Etola may have just won. XD

That is both awesome, hilarious and slightly disturbing. Is that a pencil holder or a pencil sharpener?
The latter suggestion is quite disturbing.

Let me look into it. Native American culture/history has always been a side interest for me, and I've got some sources lurking around. This is now mainly to satisfy my own curiosity as much as yours, of course, because I can't resist a puzzle.

:D

Do you know which of the Six Nations she partially belonged to?

My brain would probably love the logical aspects of a Gantt chart. It's very logically driven. But seeing as I'm pantsing this novel, it might be more useful for editing later. Because come hell or high water I am finishing this damn novel this year.

I have each scene as it's own note card in Scrivener.

It's a tool for project management, duh.

Ok for serious I'm going to write about this on my blog and then you will ALL SEE how genius it is.

Would this be a bad time to confess I usually don't read your blog unless you're discussing comics?

Recalculating....
I Feel a Great Disturbance in the Multi-Quote.

In other words, a good old fashioned Irish Wake.

:D

Bascially.

Also, like, congrats on wordage and all that shit.

Thanks. Puh-lenty of garbage horsesh** tropes cliches words left to write, but at least this thing has a finishing point so I can steer the ship.

MSP0ject is the deb-ill. If I could un-use it in my daye jobbe, I would. Fie upon, thee P0ject. FIE!!!

Seriously, though, I tried yWr1ter for a while, but have always reverted back to W0rd. A lot of people seem to like various tools, but I can't seem to get away from the simplicity of a blank sheet with just words.

Aroo?! Note cards? Scrivner? <--INTERESTED. :O

I'm 1/8 Native American (no better generalized term to use), though that's as details as it gets. XD I know the name of one of my First Nation ancestors and I know which people are local to my area of the country, but that's about it. I've always had an interest in the Micmaq and Abnaki cultures and histories, too.

And SOMEBODY's a little too chipper this morning.

That is a commendable level of effort there. *applause*

*bow*

It's all a facade, though. I haven't even had my 3rd cup of coffee, yet. Although there is a certain... something in air.

I wonder if sawdust and Skittles can be mixed into a hallucinogen? o_O

Yeah, see, it's the inherent oxymoron in those last four words that I think is the sticking point, Psycho.

One of the many reasons I do not work in a corporate environment that involves the needs for "projects."

Also because no corporation in its right mind would hire me.
