They have a moment in the 2nd half of the book where they almost run into a cow in the middle of the road. The MC's young cousins then start teasing her with really bad cow jokes.

Okay, help me with this. I'm trying to learn about showing vs telling. This was a writing exercise. You're supposed to show that Amanda was bored. So...show me that Amanda was bored.
By the way, I don't know how much telling vs showing I did in my WIP because I haven't read it in a long time.

First big question: Whose POV?
Second big question: What would she do when she's bored? That's a personality thing and we don't know her personality. Some people tap their fingers, or scribble, or stare into the distance, or wander around, or fall asleep.
Think about her personality and then have her do whatever fits hers to show she's bored.
If you're in her POV, then what are her thoughts while she's doing these things? I honestly can't give you suggestions for this, because when I'm bored, I fall asleep. Not much thinking going on there.
However falling asleep is also really boring to read/write, so it might not be your best option.Good luck.
