What I really want is something I saw last summer. It was an inflatable kayak, but sturdy looking and with two seats. Great for compact camping - I don't drive an SUV after all - and something easy to maneuver.

I started checking on various islands in the US and realized that Wisconsin has islands for sale. Very nice. When I win the lottery, I'll have to buy one and invite everybody to come stay with me for a writer's retreat.

Alaska has some, too. See, this is why I need a good ship. I found one once. It was a retired NOAA research vessel with a hull specially fit for icebergs. I wanted it very badly but since I'm me--no money. Sadly, somebody else bought it and I'm sure they're using it for all kinds of fun stuff.
