sorry about your R, Clovia I queried Mr. Carr on 2/22. I wonder if I should be worried? It is only a 2 day difference, though. Maybe he doesn't read them in order?

I wouldn't worry, Aubie. Agents often don't read in order, and especially if they're dividing reading time between computer and phone, etc. I'd give it a few more days.

Sylvia Lewis's UNLIVING, where a teenaged outcast and viviomancer finally finds her soulmate in a half-trained necromancer, but first must face down his terrifying zombie mother and escape the evil underground corporation that wants to draft them both, to Lisa Cheng at Running Press Kids, for publication in Spring 2013, by Katherine Boyle and Michael Carr at Veritas (World).

Ellen Wiseman's THE PLUM TREE, in which a Christian girl and her Jewish boyfriend face poverty, bombs, and the Gestapo in the Second World War, to John Scognamiglio at Kensington, in a two-book deal, for publication in 2013, by Katherine Boyle and Michael Carr at Veritas (World).
He's also worked alongside Ms. Boyle on some of her clients/deals.

Mr. Carr had a partial of mine last year and was kind enough to forward it onto Ms. Boyle. Nothing came of it, but I sent a query on 4/2 this month with my latest project and I'm SO crossing my fingers.

Mr. Carr is at the absolute top of my list. He's such a bright light in this business and his positive attitude and hard work ethic shines through the negative.

I queried Mr. Carr quite a while ago. I was wondering if he had become a non-responder for queries he's not interested in. But I see some people have received relatively recent rejections. Perhaps mine has just been lost in the shuffle?? It has been about 2 months.

Has anyone had any experience yet with Jennifer Skultesky? She's a new agent at Veritas, having worked previously at Manus as a reader, according to her LinkedIn. She's not on their website yet.

Have they turned into a no response means no agency? It's been a month since my query. And I'm smacking my head that I didn't send my first two chapters. Perhaps that's the reason for the no reply. I have a couple fulls out, but Mr. Carr is the top of of my list and was hoping for the chance!

Morgan, it's been two months on my query too. I just wrote it down as no answer. I did send the two first chapters.

Shoot :/ They were so kind with material they had of mine last year. I was hoping they'd take a look at this new project. I'll cross my fingers for a couple more weeks before moving on!

I look at and reply to everything sent to me personally. Stuff sent to the agency web site is read by whichever agent (or intern) is currently reading the slush.

For what it's worth, I sent out a query, synopsis, and first two chapters today at 9 am and had a request for a 50 page partial by 4 pm. Needless to say I made sure to send that out ASAP. Super excited!

With regards to the person who asked about Jennifer Skultesky:

I queried Ms. Boyle today, and received a full request from Ms. Skultesky several hours later. So far they've seemed incredibly quick--and apparently one of the agencies that will pass projects around if they seem better suited to another agent within the group. Came by here to confirm their legitimacy, and am about to send off the manuscript!

Yes, we do this a good deal. In part because we aren't always facing the same work load. It is an unfortunate facet of the business that I sometimes pass on otherwise promising manuscripts because I'm overwhelmed with work from existing clients, etc. At other times Jennifer and Katie will be in the same situation and will send stuff my direction.

Jennifer would be great to work with, BTW, and is actively signing clients, so if you have a project you think she would like, don't hesitate to query her.

I'm also interested in whether anyone has any recent experience with the timeline for fulls at this agency. I got a request for a full from Katherine Boyle at the end of February, sent a followup nudge some weeks ago, and have heard nothing. I assume it's time to give up hope, but it would be nice to know for sure.

How long does it normally take for a review/answer to a full manuscript request? Thanks so much.
