Todays sermon is to nag at you to be good and yes I know there are many ways to be good like last night and then breakfast this morning which were both good if the proper things were served like maybe or maybe not pancakes or waffles with butter and maple syrup this morning or to behave which might or might be what I should stick to though sticking to something is usually kind of a sticky situation and may or may not be much fun or to give things to people who need them not like last night whenever you can which should be pretty often since you have a lot of spare time and a computer on which you should or should not post pictures of last night being good or you would not be able to be reading this which you may or may not continue to read but if you are you reading this you will realize that all I want you to do is be good because that may or may not have rewards not like the ones on the post office wall for locating people who were not good in some way or another and now somebody wants to lock them away for good which may or may not be a way that you might or might not want to be good all by your self or with bubba who kind of might like you to be good like you were last night because my words because
Upon reading one of Porter's recent tirades, I was reminded of a small problem we have back here in The World. It has to do with a gallon of maple syrup we received this past Christmas. A whole gallon of syrup is too much for us to deal with all in one go. Opened, it tends to go moldy before we can finish it. I would like to preserve it in quart size lots in order to keep the greedy little saprophytes at bay. My question is, would canning it in a water bath be adequate, or must it go through the pressure canning process?
What say the old timers?
Thanks, Porter. A-canning we will go, then.Water bath canning is fine. By the way, if you do get a little of the dark mold skin on top, it does not ruin the syrup. Lift it off and forget you ever saw it.
It would be even better if you sent the extra to me.![]()
