Hello from an Okie

Hey! I'm Megan from Tulsa, Oklahoma. I'm 25, unemployed, and a wanna novelist.

I've been writing pretty much since I was a kid. At one point, when I was 13, I showed my parents something I wrote (it was about my Oklahoma Sooners winning the national championship in football) and they were so impressed they got me a freelance job at the local newspaper (it was a small-ish town). I mean, I don't mean to brag or anything.

Anyway, I enjoy writing fiction more than journalism, or so I discovered after a year of college. I always wanted to write a novel but I never had the resilience to finish, or even come close, until last year's NaNo. I finally finished a 70k word first draft and while it's crap, I was so proud of myself. Now, I'm working on another novel, which will probably be about 95k and I think this one is better.

I like YA, I like science fiction and fantasy and adventure and mystery and thriller, pretty much anything that feels "big," really.

Other than that, I blog, I tweet, I watch sports (I love soccer--Everton Football Club is my greatest passion other than writing), and I look for jobs. You could say I have the least interesting life ever, which is probably why I like to make up stories.
