Ordered Mac Book Air!

Happy happy happy dance! I even paid for next day shipping--something I never do!!!!

Thanks to everyone who helped with my MBA/Ipad questions.

I bought the 4g RAM 128g model from 2011. Refurbished, of course.

I'm going to order an optical drive to attach from Amazon. Plus the thunderbolt cord. Not Mac brand, both rated well and half what Mac charges.

Thanks again. I'm so excited! (Bet you couldn't tell). I've lusted after one of these babies since they were invented a few years ago.

Oh boy! Congrats. This comp changed my life (writing life, too.) You're gonna have some hassle with enlarging the fonts on the net and in documents, but Air's worth it.

This is what I envision, something to take everywhere and write.

Wonder how long til I break down and buy the Ipad?

Arg, I want this thing so much. My husband's insisting I wait for the newest model. Either because A) I'll want that one more or B) I might get an older model at a cheaper price.

Something about being patient and all that nonsense.

Anyways, tangent. Enjoy the awesome.

Congrats.

I do feel the need to point out that's not a Thunderbolt cable, but a Thunderbolt to HDMI cable. No one has really been able to undercut Apple on a Thunderbolt cable yet. They're just expensive to make, apparently.

Oh, sure. And last week, it was two more weeks. And the week before that it was three more weeks. You people and your math.

The funny thing now is right now our debate is whether or not I'll break down and get the new one. My bet is no, the now-current version is such a big update that I'll be very happy with it. His bet is I'll realize I'm not getting a new computer after that for a long time and dive in for the newer one.

Only the next week will tell I suppose.

No, really WWDC the Apple developer's conference is June 11-15.

The keynote, with the hardware/software/features/OS release is usually on Tuesday.

Yeah, I considered those reasons. But I actually heard about the original MBA's before they even came out.

I've waited long enough.

Yes, I know it is. The math thing was my tired brain's attempt at humor.

I don't think there's going to be any significant price drop right away. And to be honest, I have on multiple occasions kicked myself for not ordering the current model weeks ago, despite the new one coming out soon. My current computer refuses to charge. A little bump to the cord and bam, instant shutdown. Not to mention the thing is heavy.

Sheila, it sounds like you really did your research and you're happy with the model you ordered. There's no reason to wait when you know what you want.

No, I think there's a reason we've been seeing killer MacBook Air deals on re-furbs.

I do think we'll see newer models. And some other stuff
