So you didn't forget your gloves?

:D

Congrats!

and Happy B-Day Ali!

:partyguy:

Lol. Nope. I kept muttering the start as I was walking towards the assessment. I was a bit too high strung to remember your and Ace's superb hilariousness.

I got some weird looks in my uniform though

Congrats Sian!

And I finished my SFF Challenge piece and posted it. Now I'm all scared. It's been a while since I shared anything. And since I'm the first to post something everyone will see it.

I should go to bed now and try not to think about it. :)

Proper crit, unless they requested mercy.

And zomg, cant sleep. Epic dream.

We were warriors, with spears, out on the water. Shark monsters were killed. More came, got bigger. Other warriors left, guy friend and I staid. Our boat was only an oversized canoe so we took shelter on some rocks when shit got tight. Sharks kept coming. Land was a few hundred yards away but the water was uber deep here. I looked down to acess monster shark situation and found a mother shark that could have ate the fking titanic. And clearly we were sitting on her bloody nursery! Epic horror!

I told my friend not to panic when he looked down and saw something larger than the titanic. He looked down and cursed.

The rocks weren't that big at the surface so we had to watch for jumping sharks trying to eat us and for mama bertha to finally take notice of us. She didnt so after awhile we made a mad dash for shore when bertha was on the far side. We made it but there was a kennel with an egg in it on the rocky beach. I told my friend not to touch it and the sharks wouldnt. At first he listened and climbed onto a narrow ledge with me. Then he lost his sense and splashed into the shallow water. A shark grabbed him and dragged him as he clung to the kennel and all disappeared.

Miraculously he broke free and swam ashore, convieniently wound free. He sobbed that I was right but I had no time for fools. I bravely stuck my head under water and saw the kennel with the egg by some ready to hatch shark eggs. I knew the egg wouldnt drown until it hatched, whatever land animal it was, but of course it would be friggen eatten by sharks before it could drown. And forget that it was uber deep, I could see this from the shore thanks to Magic Dream Perspective Shifts.

It was on. My warrior self pulled out a stick of dynamite from thin air. I told my friend to get back and that we'd have to blow up the top of bertha shark just under the surface. I tried to figure out how we'd do this and not blow ourselves up, or have it go off just above the surface ineffectively. Then I imagined a big chunk of bertha getting blown off, her body spasming, and her tail smashing the precious unknown-species egg of ours. Friend is freaking out. I lit the fuse.

And then I woke up all O.O

And now that I got that out I will try and get some sleep. Eeee.

Ah! Ok, so that I have done already. *Drags WIP out of recycling bin*

Good morning cantinas :Sun:

Congrats to Sian.

There seems to be shopping and decluttering on my agenda today. I really need a plug for my bathroom sink.

It's four thirty in the morning, and I'm up. My back does this weird thing sometimes. The muscles around my ribs -- mostly in back, but it does spread eventually -- start to slowly tighten up, making it harder and harder to catch a full breath. It doesn't hurt (at first), but it's damned scary to wake up and only be able to draw tiny little gasping breaths.

The cure is to get out of bed and walk around until the spasm relaxes. THAT'S when it starts hurting, little tiny lightning strikes of excruciating pain here and there around my rib cage.

Why mention it here? Because, instead of alerting me to the problem and waking me up, my sleeping brain decided to incorporate the smothering feeling into my dreams.

Stupid brain.

Stupid dreams.

Good Morning Friends!

Cool dream Fen.

*hugs Junely* Because virtual hugs never hurt. :) *hands you magic pain killers* ;)

I have cleaning to catch up on today. Dishes and laundry never end. So no planned writing time today even though I have a pretty good idea for the next SFF prompt.

Have I mentioned that writing short is hard for me? I know I can do scenes and stuff but these prompts aren't sparking anything for my current WIPs just their own little stories.

Paramedic. Changed my degree. Best thing I've ever done.

2.5 yrs

Yikes... Sounds like it's serious business over there!

The time from starting school to being a certified paramedic here is 10 months (it's being qualified to drive the ambulance and therefore start school that can take ages). For Advanced Care paramedicine including flight paramedics, tack another year or two at most onto that.

I don't think we'd have any paramedics if they had to get a degree here, considering there's already a severe shortage in several big cities.

Morning all!

Can I make an editing note? In most cases, there should not be more instances of the word "eyes" than pages in a manuscript.

Just sayin'

Yeah I can see how that would be a problem.

Are they at least pretty eyes?

Has anyone ever gotten so sick of looking at a blank page that they just want to punch their hand through the fucking screen so the damn thing will stop just sitting there expectantly, like it's judging you as a failure for every second your fingers refuse to move on the keyboard?

*crickets* Yeah, me neither... I'll leave now...

When I try to write and the words aren't coming, I usually just write whatever crap I'm thinking about at that precise moment, then segue into what I am meant to be writing. The nonsense I start off with can always be deleted once I have words I want to keep.

Oh, and I have seen my nephew. He looks like a hairless rat creature, but he's still only a day old, so... yeah. Straight away is not the best time to see babies.
