Great, now I have "I'm too sexy for my shirt" stuck in my head.

Someone shoot my Inner DJ. ;)

*dances*

Rosie, I too am wondering what's up with the thumb? What? Also, love the original cover and I'm glad your pub is pretty much sticking with it. It totally wouldn't be too hot for my (hypothetical) classroom. :)

On labeling...Can I just say I embrace my inner hack? I'm going to run with that as I'm finishing this trashy, pulpy dystopian fantasy of mine. :e2headban

Also, ice cream. There should be ice cream.

Oh and Blond and Lara/Kris/Rick win!

ETA: Nutella cupcakes! :D

Might be that she's starting to slip her hand inside the waistband of his jeans. ;)

In a world within a world.
Sorry, guys. This is super awkward... but... can we not tweet about things we discuss in the thread unless the poster specifies that they'd like a message to go out into the wider world? I know the thread is public, and anyone who wants to find it can, but... Please?

I'm not going anywhere, unless I need to retreat to the dark closet again. :)

I'm wondering what's so interesting in that closet.

I think this should be our motto.

I see I missed a women's fiction discussion. I'm not quite sure what it is, actually. When I worked in that fabulous 5 story used book store in Berkeley, the staff were always fighting about how to categorize books. The owner kept putting books about make up into the women's section, which enraged the feminists (who hated make up) and the guy in charge of the gay section, who pointed out that men can also wear make up. It was actually quite comic, except people got angry. Oh yeah, the guy in charge of the gay section moved all the famous gay writers to his section, but the owner kept moving them back to general literature. Much arguing ensued.

Once I found Woody Allen's "Without Feathers" shelved in the wild life section.

I LOVED Little Princess.

I had a very very good today. I connected with an editor about a non fiction middle grade project. We scheduled a time to talk the second week of July, when she is back from vacation.

Of course, given the pace of things if anything does happen it will probably be fall.

That, and my magazine sale, and my other R and R, well, my career is looking sort of bright. I just wish I had time to write, but son is home and now hubby has pneumonia.

*sigh* I tried catching up, but it just ain't gonna happen.

*hugs* and booze where needed.

Spent the day helping out at the wedding for two of my close friends. It was gorgeous, very fairy tale like with wonderful splashes of nerdom involved. Like, once the groom kissed the bride, they did their wedding march to the closing song for Portal (it's a game, for those that aren't gamers.) Their vows to each other were hilarious too. Very, very fitting for the newly-weds.

I'm glad I got to be a part of it. :)

Morning all.
Tired. Work-working until midnight and then was annoyed that I missed my writing time, so I stayed up till 1:30. I am too old to do that lol.

Now I'm going to sit here in the corner and wait for a RickCap to see if it includes the phrase "Cheeky's butt was itchy".

Morning, all. I can't keep everything I missed straight. Let's see... Cheeky's butt itches, Lily's back as superwoman, purgies have guilty reading pleasures, nutella cupcakes, Rosie's cover is too hot for an uptight bookstore, and women once again are getting shafted but this time in an industry dominated by women, sadly enough.

Oh, and The Bowie made an appearance.

I have no guilty reading pleasures, mostly because guilt implies I care what other people think about what I read. I do have some tropes that I adore, however.

I have also somewhat calmed down from my rampage yesterday. I swear, if I couldn't murder the people who piss me off IRL in my books, I'd be in prison by now.
