July SF/F Bookstudy Poll

Okay, time to vote! This time around we have five books to pick from, so to do things a little differently everyone can vote for their top two picks. Whichever book wins will be the book we discuss in the month of July. If you vote, please take part in the discussion (even if your choice didn't win).

The suggestions for this month are:

Slan by A.E. Van Vogt

John Dies at the End by David Wong

Roadside Picnic by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky

Little Brother by Cory Doctorow

The Martian Chronicles
by Ray Bradbury

I have to vote for The Martian Chronicles. I've read it before but... well, you know.

But since I have to vote for a second one - John Dies at the End.

You don't have to vote for two, I just put that option there since we have a larger pool than usual to choose from. But I'm not going to complain about anyone voting for JDatE .

I've read Little Brother, and voted for it because if you haven't already read it, you should.

Then I voted for Roadside Picnic because I haven't read it, and besides: how can you go wrong with a classic written by two Russians over forty years ago, with a forward by Le Guin?

punahougirl84 is on a distinguished road
I loved Little Brother (which inspired one of my NaNovels) and am embarrassed to admit I've not yet read The Martian Chronicles, thus my votes. Though I did read Mars by Ben Bova (and got it autographed at Balticon)...

Well, I'm currently reading Little Brother, which I downloaded last night - thanks to the person who stuck up the link, very handy - so I voted for that, and I voted for Matian Chronicles because I've always wanted to read it and I need to read it for my course and because it's Ray Bradbury, and well, that just seems right to me right now...*

*Bad grammar, but heck, you know what I mean.

The Martians are coming! The Martians are coming!

Okay, not really, but I just wanted to bump this to remind everyone about the book for July. I'm still trying to track down a copy, but if my library doesn't get it in time or I can't find it used, I'm willing to pick this one up new.
