I originally typed Blizzard... but then I had to be realistic to myself. No doubt, Activision is working hard to fuck Titan up and give it the same replayability as Diablo III.

But, I've been LOVING Blizzard games for more than 2/3rds my life, starting at Rockin' Roll Racing at age 9 (before they were even Blizzard). Call me a sucker for sentiment, but I'm probably going to play every game put out under Activision, so long as they stick the familiar "Blizzard" logo on it, no matter how much the contents inside the boxes begin to reek of poo.

I know that feel.
I've been playing Blizzard games for over half of my life, I started when I was very young with the original Warcraft: Orcs and Humans, although that was so far back that I'm amazed I can remember it since I don't remember anything else from that period.

The final beta will be July 20-22.

Do you hate me now? :p
(Why do you hate me exactly?)

I will forgive you if only because, at some point in the future, you'll be in a gaming sub-forum and someone will say:

"I've been playing GUILD WARS 2 for over HALF MY LIFE. I started when I was VERY YOUNG with the original Guild Wars, although that was SO FAR BACK I'm amazed I can remember ANYTHING ELSE from that period."

You, my good sir, yes YOU are a whippersnapper. :p

I'm pretty sure I'll be going with a Guardian and a Mesmer, not sure of my race choices yet though.

Oh ArenaNet, why did you do have to do this?
It's not the end of the world, but it's quite the disappointment for me.
I like the aesthetic of a lot of the armor in GW2, but there's so much combat lingerie among the female armor sets.
How am I supposed to take a female character seriously when they run around battles and in arctic temperatures with so much skin showing? (The starting outfit for female Norn Mesmer's is so . . . stupid.)

Not as bad as Tera, but that's not saying much.
I haven't seen heels yet, but then I haven't really been looking (please let there not be high-heels).

LOL, Guild Wars (original) was all beautiful people in lingerie armor (the women, at least). I actually had a female elementalist named Fashion Crime because I couldn't get anything for her *but* skimpy, unless I wanted to grind obsidian shards for the obsidian armor.

I'm looking forward to seeing what they've done with this game.

I've noticed, the Mesmer, Elementalists, and some of the Assassin armor sets are particularly bad for the females, whereas the males seem afraid to show any skin at all.

Having played the game a bit, there seem to be both options for female characters with a combo of drops and crafted armor being either normal/skimpy. It's not all skimpy all the time.

If you want skimpy male armors, go Norn. They do the bare-chested barbarian look better than anyone.

I bought the digital version already. It's already downloaded, just waiting for the launch (and since I downloaded this version I get a 3 day head start). I'm just afraid I won't be able to put this game down once it launches.

Been playing this weekend. I'm having just as much fun this time as I did before. Really good stuff all around. They did so many things right!

The sylvari are freakish and cool. A decidedly faerie feel to the entire race that isn't hackneyed or overdone.

Asura creep me the hell out. They beat the hell out of gnomes and goblins in Warcraft if you ask me. Their engineering and technology isn't the HAR HAR WAKKA WAKKA variety. They're actually kind of chilling.

Asura Guardian FTW!!!!! Started the beta yesterday. Anyone else kind of having trouble adjusting to the controls?

Really liking the depth of combat. There's plenty of fiddling and tuning and tweaking to dig into.

One of the big secrets seems to be knowing your enemy. That's why they've got subtext on enemy portraits about the bad guys' special abilities. You'll change your weapons, skills, and tactics to suit. And utility skill selection is key. Almost everyone has a break stun/remove conditions skill in the second tier. You definitely want that one available, even if you don't always keep it equipped. And you always want a ranged or melee weapon in your bag. Even casters have short-range weapons with interrupts and stuns that are really useful in certain situations.

I found myself skill swapping and weapon swapping constantly in the late teens. I'd imagine that doesn't change much as we keep leveling. And as you accumulate talent points, actual builds start getting apparent. I didn't see much diversification down at my level, but one buddy got to mid 30's (I don't think he slept all weekend) and built his elementalist as a control monster. Dude was nigh unkillable!

Anyway, I'm crazy psyched up for this. :) Oh, we also tested guilds. You can join multiple guilds across multiple servers. And grouping up to play together is simple. You just invite, and join the leader on their server/zone. Easy as pie.

I played a Ranger, and I found their ranged damage to be meh-worthy.
Now an axe and warhorn on the other hand . . . well, I finished the demo storyline at level 16--the demo end is intended for level 19+.

Has anyone decided on their server/home world yet?

I liked collecting pets. :3

I didn't get to try thief and engineer, but chance are I'm going to end up with one of each class. It always happens.

Tarnished Coast for me, since that's the unofficial RP server. Though it doesn't really matter for terms of grouping or guilding. Anyone can group for PVE with anyone else from any server. And anyone can join any guild on any server, and you can be part of multiple guilds.

It's not the first time they've done something of this sort.

Yeah, but they know they're the old hat this time. GW2 is the new hotness. For my part, I'm happy they're cutting down on the opening weekend lag.
