Horrible day at work. Now off home.

I really hope I can write something. It doesn't have to be good, just anything that will make me feel as though the day wasn't a complete write-off.

Only if they're vegan. :)

Yeah, the life of a writer, right? Can't tell you how many people I've had to shoot to see if I could get it right.

I thought bunnies were vegan - they don't do dairy or meat. Well, not in this part of the world.

Bad night last night - bugs flying about my bedroom, ending up in my hot choccie drink. So not good. Had about two hours sleep. hmph

onesecondglance hope things get better.

:hi:Thanks for the welcomes :)

LOL @ the way people respond when you tell people you write :D I don't know what people would say if I was a published/professional writer, but what people say when I tell them I like to write (as in, I am trying to be serious about it or I *like* to write, as in *need to*) is often very mundane, like 'Oh I like to write, too, I used to write stories when I was a kid.'
Which makes me stare blandly at them until we start talking about something else because I don't know where to go from there :D

onesecondglance - hope you have a better day, can really sympathise with the bad day at work thing. Got one coming up, fairly sure of it.

I am home, very sore from both not having had any good sleep in Crete (seriously, who puts a smoke detector with a bright white blinking LED right above the bed so it's flashing in people's eyes all night?) and from sunburn on the last day when I visited the ruins of Knossos. Coupled with that I am so exhausted I feel like an inflated balloon and have to do a three hour tour of Prague Castle this evening.

But, I have updated the blog, Twitter and two FB accounts for work, so I've got something done at least.

Zelenka hope the sunburn gets better soonest. The blinking light sounds really annoying. Thinks... was it a low ceiling? If so, and this might be useful on other trips, cover the thing with a sticky plaster. Take some large ones with you, just in case!

My day is turning into Slob of the Week Day! Had breakfast in bed at some stupid hour and went back to sleep. Not sure what time I woke up but have had second breakfast and chicken soup is bubbling gently away. House smells wonderful. I should be writing - but the omph I need is still asleep.

Onesecond, hope you have a better weekend to offset the bad day.

Welcome home, Zelenka!

Shakes--Slob of the Week. I love it!

Mr M--it certainly is, isn't it? How was the book signing?

Welcome back, Zelenka.

Ugh. I think I have a major case of not wanting to work and slight road block because of these WIPs. It's like I know I have to create outlines for them. I know this. It's just like I can't see where to go or what I should do. Ugh. -head desk- Maybe I should try reading something "not in my genre"? Maybe that'll get my brain back into gear.

Ow, my neck hurts. What I'd give for a good massage. I'll settle for stretching, ice/heat and staying away from the mouse button.

Anyone enjoying chocolate tonight? :)

I'm struggling with a chapter.... Specifically a transition from one paragraph to the next. It bothers me. Sigh.
Maybe I'd rather leave it and sleep on it.
Been working on my writing for hours now, maybe my brain is just empty :D

Yes! I am enjoying chocolate - very dark and bitter. AND a mug of hot choccie before sleeping.

I have degenerated from Slob of the Week to Slut of the Month. I have done nothing today except cook, eat and watch tv. And drink cold white wine

If you're Slut of the Month, I think you missed something in that list.:poke:

Ah! Yes. Slut in the sense that I am not concerned about conventional house keeping and stuff like that. Not a slut in the sense of one who bonks anything in trousers. LOL! How appropriate that you used the poke emoticon!

darn, so no vicarious thrills for me today, huh?

Now going into my idea file (should actually be titled: ideas that I'll never use in all likelihood, because I only seem to put and never take), a group of teen or college girls has a "slut of the month" competition.

(see, I'm a writerpersonlady. Always thinkin' See the gears whirring?)

No, but I bought some! :snoopy:

I was confused by the slut line too. But it is a good story idea, lorna!

Church tomorrow promises to be... interesting. My Please-God-Help-Me log (texts, emails, and calls) is running pretty high. I have to be there early and stay late for training. The good news is that I have new people to train! :snoopy: The bad news is I have a teacher seriously furious with me. So... that will be less fun. :(

Any teacher that gets "seriously furious" is NOT, imho, a professional. The energy used to get to that emotional state is wasteful and could be used helping students.

Fury?
"It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing."

Fury has no place in teaching; mediation and calmness have places in teaching. My thoughts are with you HJ because you should not have to put up with that.

Thanks, ladies. :) These are volunteers, but usually everyone gets along really, really well. One teacher not as much. ::sigh:: There's always one, right? And I haven't done anything wrong, I'm just bearing the brunt. That's why I make the big bucks. :) Er, or something. :tongue

FIFY!

You could call it 'The Floozie File'.

Teachers furious with HJ???!!! What's wrong with these people??

I agree with Shakes, no room for that in teaching! Here in SA, every time there's a teacher's strike, some of them end up burning down a few classrooms - and this because they're striking about pay and working conditions! It. Just. Does. Not. Compute!!

Floozie File - good name!

Well, if the classrooms that are burnt down are the ones causing them to complain then I sort of understand but think it is not the way to go about things. I hope they made sure there were no pupils in the rooms.

HJ, yes there is always one who makes things bad for everyone. I've worked with teachers who should never have been allowed children. One of them, well, my cat used to run and hide when she came to visit.

This particular teacher is an awesome one. I mean that. She's fantastic with the kids, usually upbeat and happy, and a wonderful person to be around. There's other stuff going on. And I'm the point person for everyone's stuff. I love my job. I do.

Shakes, we once caught a dog who was running wild through the neighborhood. She tried to bite my kid, so we were pretty pissed. But when I called her people to come and get her the man who came made me understand why she was so bad. He exuded evil. The dog instantly put her tail between her legs and cowered. :(

I hate people who are mean to animals. I know, as a good Christian I'm not supposed to hate. God forgive me.
