Whoa, Rab's husband. I'd smack him too, except I'm too nonviolent. I'm sure some other Purgies don't have those compunctions. Haupe's solution might work for a bit too.

(((Kris))) I hope the tests clear things up to the good. My nephew has mono now. Maybe it's going around (does it go around?)

Wow, awesome Grand Guignol cover, KT.

Oh, and Clovia, one of my tech guys said the other day that like 30% of websites now are WordPress -- not just blogs, all kinds of sites. Or maybe it was 15% -- I forget, but it was a lot.

(((Kris))) Hoping for the best for you and kiddo.

LW, awesome news! All fingers and toes crossed.

Mr. Snappy had his impacted wisdom teeth taken out this afternoon. Poor thing has been miserable since. :(

Clovia, I don't know if this is important to you or not, but there are restrictions on the basic Wordpress in terms of the kinds of links you can put there to commercial sites. For example, I can't post URLs from amazon as an amazon associate where people could click through to purchase things (where I'd get a tiny percentage of salesif they did)

LWalker, everything crossed for you!!

Mine came out with another gem tonight - I finally got around to telling him about yesterday's passes. His response: "So, if this one doesn't sell, are you going to quit wasting your time?"

Smack.

Thanks!

And, OMFG. I’m with Haupe. That’s a douchey thing to say, Mr. Becky. Not cool. Not. Cool.

(((Becky)))

ETA: *sprinkles cuisinarted Edward on Lily’s BOOKS* Much luck, lots of prayers, and buckets of love, lady! Hope it’s all smooth.

Heh - thanks, guys. It was, to say the least, really NOT what I needed to hear today. He's usually supportive, but he can be seriously clueless at times too.

Haupe - I think he's pretty clear on the idea he's SOL tonight. ;)

Also: I think everyone here is like me in that yes, getting a book deal would be or is awesome, but you write because it’s who you are. I do it first and foremost because I love it. It lights up something in me that nothing else does, and I am not as happy when I abandon it.

So no matter what the business does or says, the craft is part of you. You are never “wasting your time.”

Thanks guys. I've been wanting to switch my domain from g0dadd4 anyway, and I've heard good things about blu3host. Sounds like Wordpress is the way to go for where to... park it, or whatever.

:box: Maybe you should stop having sex with him because, you know, without procreation it's just a waste of time.
Women don't fight fair. But Mr. Becky does indeed, deserve a smack.

Mr. Lily once said to me, "Maybe you're not good enough to get published."

I want Phoenix's dog to pass cob, but I am NOT going to promise to be a poopy's best friend. Unless it was Mr. Hankey.

Colby, there you are! I can officially congratulate you now. Woooooot! :partyguy:Busy year for you, chica.

What lwalker said.

Will be thinking of you, Lily!

Well, to be clear, I wouldn't actually withhold sex, because that involves self-punishment. A reframe around such tender issues, though, tends to make the point.

(Why does everything I say sound like a porkchop?)

phoenix, oh noes. Are you certain he ate it?

So I'm in SF for a wedding. Bridesmaid and all. Singing with the string quartet and I was supposed to do ONE song at the wedding reception with the band. Band leader emails me, oh, today and asks what my set will be.

"My set?"

"Yeah, the bride said you'd be sitting in for a set."

*grumble grumble*

Throwing together a set of Aretha, Peggy Lee, Louis Armstrong and Kelly Clarkson. Cuz, you know, I have time for that.

Meanwhile, I thought my only obligation tomorrow was the rehearsal dinner. Oh, no. BRIDE FORGOT TO TELL EVERYONE ABOUT THE REHEARSAL. Yes, and the drinks before the rehearsal dinner that the bridesmaids are hosting. Wha? Huh? So there goes yet another day.

Revisions due: 13 days

Blond, you can do the revisions and the set too! Of course, you could say to the band leader, "Oh no, you misheard. I'm supposed to do one song."

At my wedding we asked a friend of ours to play on a couple of songs, which was great, but somehow that was misunderstood by all to mean that it was karaoke. So we had quite a few people sing with the band, and some of them, shouldn't.

(((RAB))) I... yeah, lost for words there.

(((Blond)))

(((Phoenix and puppy)))

(((Mr. Snappy)))

Off today, yay! Gonna see if I can make it to the end of the first pass on these revisions. Not much has to change from here out, so it'll be good if I can finish. Because the beginning and middle? OMG, so much crap to fix. Also have some beta notes to type up for someone. ;)

Morning Purgs!

So I just about accidentally slashed my wrist at work (caught it on a shelfat a pretty sharp edge). Fortunately it didn't actually cut deep or things could have been interesting, eep. Anyway, it's W@lm@rt and we all know, if the zombie virus lurked anywhere, it would be here. ;)

Anyway, will have an interesting scar for people to stare at for a while.

Also thinking all the good thoughts for Lily. :LilLove:

ETA: Ink! *perks up*
