Yay, poo!

Dys and Caleb, be grateful you don't get the reference. That character is what made me stop watching S0uth P@rk.

Maryn, I H-A-T-E those little ants! They love butter, too. I wash the counters with Borax and then spray Lysol. We've been ant-free for 5 days now. I also moved the butter to the top of the fridge.

So. I'm back home. Details whited-out for the squeamish:

Whole thing took an hour and a half, much of that waiting, signing things, waiting some more, walking between rooms...

So I've decided that of the two weirdest noises attached to my body--my chiro making my neck go snapcracklepop, and a PERKY doctor (she was like my character Sidney, amped up O.O) sticking a surgical punch into my BOOK four times and making it go ka-chunk!--I prefer the snapcracklepop.

Truly, the only thing that hurt was the needle for the numbing drug and a sting when she made the incision for the BOOK punch. Other than that some pressure. The ka-chunks didn't hurt at all. What an incredibly professional staff all around. I've got an ice pack and have to wear a bra for the next 24 hours, even to bed, to avoid bouncing. The BOOK is a wee bit sore.

The "good" news is they say 3-5 business days for the result. So, if there are no complications with the test, I should know the results by next Friday. So... a day of writing and watching movies and trying to de-stress over here. It's gonna be 90 again with ugly humidity, so i'm staying in.

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone. *snorples Purgatory*

Afternoon team! Super excited! I've officially been approved to rent the flat. I was worried about getting approved since I only have a few months' proof of income, but it seems like my savings accounts, tax planning, and general boringness have done the trick. :tongue Moving date is next month.

Yay Para!! congrats!

...I suspect this means I'll be meeting you somewhere other than the castle-which-shall-not-be-named-because-I-can't-remember-the-name in September?

I could pop back down to Dorset easily enough - the train ticket is cheap. I have the impression that Americans are most impressed by castles, so I always want to show them all my favourite ruins. :tongue

Yay, Para!!! Americans are impressed by anything more than 300 years old. ;)

First pass on revisions finished! 10,400 words added! Next step: the pain of discovering all the plot holes I've introduced, and making sure my parallel story arcs actually arc. But first, must work on those beta notes.

(((Sammy))) Keep going.

Yay Corn Dog! And man, that South Park episode was like 13 or 14 years ago -- no wonder the kids don't know it!

Woohoooo INK! Great work.

And grats, Para! You are such a grownup.

13 or 14 years ago... put me at 15 to 16 years old. Yeah my tv watching was starting to become thin and become sporadic. I've seen so very few south park episodes.

Woohoo, Ink!

(((Blond)))) But I have faith. You can do it. :)

Still thinking good thoughts for Kris and her boo.

I’m venturing out to do errands with the kids today. Happy Friday, all.

Hell, 250+ gets me every time.

Whatever's easiest for you, m'deah. That's the last castle on our tour of something like, oh, ten castles (this is a fairly ambitious schedule for 4 days), so if you want to meet up somewhere more modern, I think we'll be okay. :D

Warning topic derailment.
Was reading how a select group of women are being allowed into the Marines Infantry training. There was a public poll asking if people thought women should be allowed in combat situations like that. There were more people that said no then yes. So here is what I don't understand. Historically speaking the armies that had women soldiers and commanders were usually more violent and destructive then all male counterparts. And if you look at two comparison lists of war gods vs war goddesses there are only 27 difference listed on those two lists. Which really isn't a huge difference. And as a personal reference on the topic back in the day I was an avid paintball player and even played for a few tournament teams. I would rather go up against any all men's team then an all women's team because the women were just vicious. So anyway why does our modern society feel that women are unfit for such situations?

Because our modern society views women as a collective caricature of idealized characteristics, rather than weighing their fitness or unfitness for each role individually.
