You remember I hurt my arm and my leg (is anyone keeping count of our injuries here?) I have also hurt my back and my left cheekbone and jaw in teh same incident. I obviously don't do things by halves.

In random news, I'd totally forgotten how awesome the Electric Light Orchestra are until I came home to hear my mum listening to their music.

Normally I'd be embarrassed of sharing music taste with a 50-year-old woman but screw it, ELO are just that good that I don't care if me and my mum both like them.

That's awesome! Just as a general piece of filk, that is. I erm... haven't read Game of Thrones. *hides* There's only one George R R Martin story I liked and he never wrote any more with that character, that I can find: The Skin Trade. Really good short story about a werewolf private detective.

I think it was in the Dark Visions short story collection.... Yeah, with a Stephen King story and a Dan Simmons story. I think I'm going to have to go and read that again!

(Oo, and apparently it's been optioned for a movie. Woohoo! It's a really great story, I would love to see a movie made of it!)

The best thing is to google. The balance of oil and cake mix makes the hybrid. My GF recipe adds walnuts and rolled oats.

Anddd... The pumpkin was a chosen one, destined for more than a Jack o lantern. In fact, America was too small for this Great One.

Today is a weird day. I'm craving mushrooms. I have never in my life been able to eat a mushroom (however small) without gagging... and yet, here I sit unable to stop thinking about mushroom orzo pasta.

It is a very, very strange place - at first it looks just like anywhere else, and then you turn a corner and you are suddenly back where you were ten minutes ago. Everywhere has this sheen of being slightly different, but it is all kinda the same - such a confusing place. And there is the awful, awful architecture, which seems designed to make anyone with a smidgen of aesthetic perception feel that their sense are being assaulted. You really couldn't design a place more uninspiring, soul-crushing and utterly without hope if you tried.
