I did have it looked at. Everyone at the reunion looked at it. My wife, her aunt, my kids.

I was walking outside with a really big thing of homemade baked beans, right out of the oven after being slow baked for a few hours.. I'd never been there before. When you come down the stairs, they have it paved in stone, but there's an area that isn't and has bushes and stuff. I tripped there and went down hard. I hit the stones, my hand got covered with beans, but I also hit the pavement.

It was a major ow. I've had more than a couple on this trip.

We had a talent show at the family reunion. My wife told me to write something, but I had no idea what to write. A couple of hours before the show, she told me to sit down with her laptop and write one of the poems that I usually do for Christmas. It tales a harrowing tale.

I’d like to tell you a story;
About our family’s journey;
Let us share with you, a dream come true
Our travels to Hawaii.

We started out on a plane;
For so long it was insane.
9 hours in flight, it was really a fright.
Our butts were all in pain.

But we finally made it to land
We found Hawaii quite grand
Beautiful blue seas, not to mention palm trees
And black lava sand

Then at end of our first day,
We went to the feast at Lele
A luau galore, fire dances, hula dancers and more
The show was a breathtaking display.

Of course, a luau would not be complete
Without culinary Hawaiian treats
Traditional Polynesian dishes, made with pork, meat and fishes
Oh my gosh, such good eats!

The road to Hana was one really long ride
But it’s a big part of Maui’s pride
It seemed to take all day, to finally make our way
Those waterfalls sure love to hide

That road has way too much curve
By cliffs that twist and swerve
It’s really quite insane, like driving in a video game
It takes a toll on your nerve




And then, most naturally
When you find yourself surrounded by the sea,
It’s a fairly safe bet, you’re gonna get wet
Which was the best part according to me

We did more than only swim
There were surfing lessons for the twins
It was amazing when, we saw them hanging ten
Then they wiped out and fell in

There was snuba and snorkeling and stuff
But at one point things got kinda rough
Their fall was brief, but the girls hit the reef
My girls proved to be tough

I tried to race to their side
But a wave hit me, I fell, then I felt a breeze on my hide
I got my own owie, as I mooned all of Maui
I lost most of my suit along with most of my pride

Well, I think that’s enough of this trip,
I’m running out of little quips
It’s so hard to find rhymes in so short of time
But let me leave you with a tip

This trip was never a bore,
We couldn’t have asked for more
But take it from me, if you take to the sea
Make sure to fasten your drawers.

So that was our week in the sun
I hope you had some fun
Listening to our week, every adventure, experience and exposed cheek
Now could somebody pass the rum?

We also had an auction for stuff people brought, everything from pies to homemade purses, to a lie that i got in Hawaii, to a little, purple box in a weird shape that I have no idea what you would put in it. (My wife bought that.)

We raised $667 dollars for charity with it too. Seattle Children's Hospital. On of my wife's cousins has a 4 year old with terminal pulmonary heart disease. Poor kid has equipment attached to her 24-7, but she's mobile and such a sweet thing.

check the poem. That first Sunday. My girls were boogie boarding and they washed into the shore onto the reef. I went after them. I got knocked down and the the tide yanked my trunks down. What's worse is that I was caught in the tide which had gotten very rough and I couldn't get up.
