Looking for a Freelance Editor--developmental edit

Does anyone know any freelance editors that they'd recommend for a developmental edit?

Thanks everyone

There's a good one whose banner appears at the bottom of your screen here at AW: Dr. Doyle is also Mrs. James D. Macdonald, a.k.a. Uncle Jim, whose name you have probably seen here already.

I have not used Dr. Doyle's services myself, but everyone I know of who has was quite pleased with the improvements in their work when they followed her advice.

Maryn, hoping to help

I second the recommendation for Dr Doyle. But if she's too busy to help you or you'd rather try someone else, you could contact the Society for Editors and Proofreaders.

Thirding the Doyle recommendation. The only other editor I know of whom I'd gladly hire is Nicola Griffith of Sterling.

I'm available as well, and I've gotten nothing but great feedback from clients. I can PM you if you'd like some testimonials or anything else.

Grover - what kind of book are we talking about? There are a few of us who are part of this community who specialize in different genres.
