Wait what? Take it easy?
You know out of all the times to take it easy...this isn't it.

BTW, are you joining us for deep dish on Wednesday?

Might I also ask about good places to eat within walking distance of the convention?

Depends on your price range.

For good deep dish pizza, I recommend Lou Malnati's. There's one a few blocks away. If you want something more interesting (and a bit more expensive), I would recommend The Purple Pig and Slurping Turtle.

If you want a great deal for high end 9 course dining, I have to recommend my sister-in-law Beverly Kim (of Top Chef Texas renown) at Bonsoiree. It's a ticketing system, but note that tax and tip is all included.

I hope y'all have fun at ChiCon. I could have gone, but I had a scheduling conflict. I'm getting married on September 1st, in Georgia.

Say hi to Nightshade and Apex for me, and do check out the Blue and Pink reading with Stina Leicht and Cat Rambo! I'll be sad to miss that!

Richard, you should warn the people about your Chicago hot dogs.

Folks, those hot dogs ain't right. They've got tomatoes in 'em. No ketchup either. Avoid them at all costs.

I lived in Chicago (Hyde Park) for quite a few years, and quite like the city.

Wish I was going, but not in the cards this year.

My energy levels can be erratic - one minute I'm a Duracell bunny, dancing and drinking until the wee hours, next thing you know I'm crashing and burning. Also, Eastercon was rather stressful, what with the debut book launch and the aforementioned high-profile panel, so I'm glad to be avoiding that in Chicago!

Not sure - we fly in on Wednesday evening, so we might be a bit late/pooped!

Ping me and I can give you the low down on the schedule. We can plan accordingly.

Oi! They're not our hot dogs.

Richard is from New York and likes kosher hot dogs absolutely plain. I'm from Cambridge and like mine plain or with mustard.

Chicago-style hot dogs are nothin' to do with us.

Oh good. I was sure you two would never have fallen for the insanity.

Here in Detroit they eat Coney dogs (mustard, onions and chile) but I'm originally from Western NY and I'd rather have a plain with mustard any day.

Update - there was an electronic hiccup and I didn't get my schedule when they were sent out. I actually have three panels as well as the reading and signing

Karen and I will be there. We are on panels for the 1632 track with Eric Flint. I am bringing a V-6 steam engine for the weird tech panel, and we are talking about the how to, of submitting work to the magazine. Come on by, weird tech can be a lot of fun.....

Regards,
Kevin

Busy, we were on 7 of 9 panels. The steam powered
air craft engine was a hit though...

I am furious about Ustream's abruptly cutting off the live web broadcast of the Hugo Awards last night and banning Worldcon as a member because it showed brief network-supplied fair use clips in its Best Dramatic Presentation category.

Ustteam is making noises about "looking into it" and "rectifying" but I cannot see what they could possibly do to make up for this.

Apart from that, the weekend has been lovely.
