Hockey's action packed anyway. Even though I played baseball in HS, I've never been able to watch it. I always figured it was me, till I asked a friend of mine who was a great pitcher in college and got a few looks from the pros, and his response was, "No, I never watch it either. It's slow."

Yeah, i mean, it's all about what happens between the pitcher and the catcher. Knowing the batter's weak spots or where we need to throw the ball depending on how many guys on base, where they are, what the score is, how many outs there are. If you can get into that- and there is something to it, as left brain as it is- then I think the narrative can hold your interest.

I took a my kids and group of friends and their kids to see a Capitals Ice Hockey game about 10 years ago. None of us had been to one before and I had gotten 20 free tickets from my employer.

All the kids talked about was if there would be a fight or not. Well is was a very quiet game and shortly before the 2nd period ended, my daughter needed to go to the rest room. She was 13 so I escorted her and a group of other kids to the restroom.

While we were gone, a fight broke out and the ice was cleared by time we got back. The kids were so disappointed they missed the one and only fight. Caps won, but they didn't care...

I also took them to Nascar events, but all they cared about was if they would get to see a big wreck in person...

Both now follow football, my son is a Dallas Fan and my daughter is a Redskin fan. (Not sure where I went wrong with my son.)

My son also now golfs and pushes me to go along.

I asked him, "do golfers get in fights and are there golf cart wrecks at high speeds?"

"No dad."

"Then I think I'll pass..."

Yeah so pretty much expect the best for the 49ers and worst for the Ravens? You anticipate Flacco, who has a 15-2 td/int ratio in the playoffs the past three seasons to throw two interceptions, yet Kaepernick, in only his 10th total start, isn't going to get picked off by Ed Reed at all?

The 49ers would've been beaten handily by the Falcons if Matt Ryan wasn't a huge choke artist, who completely fell apart in the second half. And the Falcone are a pretty soft team compared to the Ravens.

Flacco has only played in a dome 3 times in his career. He's droolong right now. And he can make those high risk throws because he has one of the best arms in NFL history.

I will agree that the Ravens right now are a much better team than the Falcons. It seems like the Ravens play to win while the Falcons play not to lose. You saw that in their playoff games. Ravens would go toe to toe with the Broncos and the Pats on the road. Hell, they shut down the Pats in the second half. Falcons on the other hand do not know how to finish a game and it damn near cost them against the Seahawks (honestly, the Hawks defense lost that game more than the Falcons won it), and it did cost them against the 49ers.

Maybe some of you heard the story John Harbaugh told about his brother, Jim. They were playing little league baseball together and Jim was on the mound, when the only girl in the league came up to bat. Turns out she was crowding the plate a little, so as any smart pitcher would do Jim was brushing her back, with some inside fastballs so that a strike might be called a strike. But to no desirable effect. So Jim did the only thing that he could do. He threw the next one right at the young lady and when she turned it caught her square in the back. That drew a round of boos from the crowd, but it did show a competitive spirit.
