I don't think there is anything wrong with being "obsessed" with your character. That means that character is real to you, and hopefully that is conveyed i your writing and passed onto the reader.

I agree. The more involved you are with your character, the more fluid the character and voice is. It tends to roll easier onto the page. I think the worst you can do is force a character into being something he's not. I know that sounds weird but some writers will know what I'm talking about.... I hope.

Cillian Murphy is so pretty. I can see how you'd become obsessed!

My current WIP has multiple POVs, but my favorite character is a street rat with a potty mouth. When I was writing the first draft, I started talking like him, which really annoyed my mild-mannered hubby, but hey, it's all for a good cause right?! :D
