February 2013 Blog Chain
Starting Date: Monday, February 4, 2013
Open to all forum members, even after it starts! This month's prompt: Suggest-A-Prompt We have so many good prompt ideas that don't get used, so it's now time to mix it up. Posters get to suggest a prompt for the next blogger in line! I'll step in and sort things out if the prompts are too arcane or obscure. Be sure to list the prompt and credit the suggester in your post. Since I'll be going first, my prompt will be handled differently: the first person to join the chain gets to suggest my prompt. Instructions: Simply post your blog's URL in this thread to join. Each post should be less than 1000 words if possible. Read and comment on other participants' posts if you possibly can--they'll be doing the same for you! I'll let you know in this thread when it's your turn. Once your turn comes up, you have two days to complete your post. When you are finished, please add a link to your post on the thread. If you signed up but find yourself unable to participate or need to be moved around in the schedule, please PM me or post in the thread. If you fail to post on your blog and on the thread within two days, I'll bump you down to the end of the line on the third day; you'll get a second chance at the end of the month. Please include a list of all participants' blogs (not necessarily their actual posts for the month) in your blog post, and keep in mind we're starting signups early for this month. I'm in, though I will be out of town Feb. 14-18 and with this kind of prompt it's impossible to write ahead of time. Could I be either before or after the 14th-18th?

Okay, everyone is added. As first poster, bmadsen must suggest a topic for me to write on before Monday. Let's go ahead and get a backup topic from ConnieBDowell too, just in case work consumes bmads still further.
I adjusted the queue to place people who will be gone later in the month at the top, too.

10-4 Orion! (That sounded geekily cool). Your topic, dear Orion, is young professionals (under 30) dealing with the pressures of continuing a family business which has developed a succesful and dependable reputation, with the twist that those young professionals don't really like the business's line of work.

Thank you kindly, bmads! Yuppies that hate the family business it is! I think I have an idea of a good way to take that. And as an added bonus you get to suggest a second topic when your turn is up

Random is good! It also means that you can inflict whatever your preferred writing prompt for the month might be on the person after you

I've got 4 blogs now, but two of them have pretty set topics lol. Still, I think I'll have the most fun doing it in HH2B again. www.hardhobbittobreak.com
Please sign me up. (shivering in terror from an UNKNOWN TOPIC!)

Post one is done!
Amanda R. is next, and her prompt is "an unexpected library encounter." If she fails to post and is bumped, the prompt will devolve upon the next participant.

And Amanda R. is out of time. We'll give her another shot later.
ConnieBDowell inherits both her slot and her topic, "an unexpected library encounter."
