What I mean is, are their any tricks to making sure you're writing a scene properly for someone that knows nothing about the story?
I leave out details all the time because I know the world like the back of my hand. This causes a lot of WTF moments when I show a scene or two to someone.
I don't even know if I asked the question right. Need coffee.
A.
I know exactly what you mean. You become so familiar with something you take it for granted that the reader might not have any idea what you're talking about. It could help if you have someone (like a beta reader or someone else) who can review your work and let you know if you need to explain something that doesn't make sense.
