vagough - so sorry to hear about your cat.:Hug2:
Mr Mitchell - congrats on finishing the 1st draft and good luck with the new one.
Liz - YAY for awesome brainstorming.:hooray:

To everyone else, great wordage.

I have been wordless for about a week now. In fact, I'm in minus numbers, seeing as I've deleted a couple of scenes and am now trying to rework them.:Headbang:

While I love 0, I firmly intend to kick it off the mantelpiece tonight. :D

Wish me luck.

Vagough - hugs.

Nothing for a couple of days. I've had to rewrite the ghost tour for work pretty much from scratch. Oh, and I'm also stuck. Pitfall of working without an outline.

Thanks to all for your kind thoughts and wishes!

Only got 19 words, total, today but did lots of editing on the first five chapters, so am happy about that. At least I'm getting back into things now.

Hope everyone has a great second-half of the weekend!

Cheers!

Cumulatively, I wrote 1 word today, but that is because I deleted 1517 and wrote 1518. I junked the whole scene I was writing (except for the first two paragraphs) and started over. I like it SO MUCH BETTER now. (How many days do I have to hit my 30K in revisions? Yikes.)

Hooray to those with words, and encouragement to those without.

Mr Mitchell, love that title. Really cool.

0 from me this weekend. Spent yesterday with friends and watching Eurovision, and today just chilling out. I have five days off next weekend and seven chapters to write to finish the second draft... I reckon I might just make it.

3,464 so far, though I just closed Scrivener accidentally and lost my tally for today again.

Also, just killed off a character who was supposed to be POV for the whole book. So that's kind of torn it, I suppose...

Sometimes I wish that would happen. If he had to go, he had to go!

1542 for me today.

I'm all over the place at the moment: lost both the story thread and my enthusiasm. But I have just noticed how far behind schedule I am, so I will just have to stop being precious and write.

1414 last night, and I finished the chapter rewrite. I like it SO MUCH BETTER now.

Next chapter is structurally weird - memories interlaced with current action, thus keeping me from having to start the story weeks earlier. I think it mostly works, but it needs some cleanup and clarity. And of course I'm second-guessing how I've set up the whole thing.

300, I think. And I've just come up with a beaut idea for a scene, but as it's almost 2am here, I will have to deal with it tomorrow. Er...today. Whenever.

-400 this morning.

I think I've cut out most of the fluff now. Which means tomorrow I need to start actually rewriting scenes. This will be hard.

Hiya guys, long time, no see. Namatu, Ken, muse, onsecondglance, mr.mitchell and all others I know,:Hug2: And a happy wave to new people. I'm back in the world of electricity and internet.

I'm in the middle of a revision of a book that is so old I came across this dialog exchange in it: "What's that thing?"/"It's called GPS (explanation)..." I kid you not. About time I got around to revising it, wouldn't you say? (Someday I will tackle the first novel, which talks about those newfangled "aeroplanes" you may have heard of.)

I want to get this revised so I can re-read my plan for the next in my series of adventure thriller disaster novel thingies (exactly what I've been calling it in the query letter, which would explain much) and get that drafted this summer.

I need accountability, for revisions are not easy for me. Force me to work!

Goal: from now to the 28th, the last working day in May for me, 90 minutes a day. Or else!

Welcome back, lorna! :Hug2:

Aeroplanes? What the heck are those? :tongue I just got me a brand new automobile made by Henry Ford, using some new fangled thing he calls a production line. I'll be hornswaggled. :tongue

All joking aside, welcome back, and you can bet we'll keep you in line. :whip:

No words this weekend, though I'm sooo close to wrapping the first draft that maybe I'm afraid of doing so. Best reason I can think of for procrastination anyway. I do have words today though, 702 to be exact, at least so far. Hope to get more later on. Brings the WIP to 90,727! Still have to get an ending that doesn't leave the reader with a "WTF" feeling.

ETA: Added another 221 words, and they are very good words, to the WIP this afternoon. Daily total of 923. Now at 90,948! Still not at a stopping point on it though, can't seem to get Kelli to finish it up. Just trying to stay away from the WTF ending. :D

About 100 words today and 0 for the entire weekend.

Just trying to get started on this new WIP, playing around with random scenes and a new character. Know where I want to end up but need to know how to get there.

Okay Lorna. Get busy, child! Or I'll have to get a switch after you. Now...force me to get back on task. I do fall somewhere between the -400 and a few.

100 words, net, yesterday, after much editing and reworking of several chapters. Today, total was 0. But then today was hubby's birthday, so he was the center of attention all day, not the WIP (as it should be on his birthday). :)

Am optimistic for tomorrow, plus vacation (and much writing time) is just around the corner.

I seem to have yanked almost 2000 words out of the WIP tonight. Got through some edits on the next two chapters. I'll need to go back and add a few things - removal of some superfluous details has given me room for some unsuperfluous details - but I'm about halfway through the 30K I wanted to edit in May.

And I sent out another query. Take that, bitter defeat!

Yay Liz!

I spent much of the morning on about 400 words and most of the afternoon critiquing them as weak and irrelevant. I believe that recent events--my surgery, the tragedy today-- will change my writing forever.

Then I wrote 1400 new words.

Words. Yay.

Well, I think I have read what I needed to. Went faster than I thought, especially when I found some old books on Estonian history in English! Bought in Estonia 20 years ago. (Have I been planning this book for a long time, or what?)

At any rate, today is plotting (I love that word *rubs hands together*) and then, maybe, possibly: more words!
