I’m sorry to say that in this instance I am going to pass on your work. The children’s and YA market are very competitive, as you may well know, and I have to feel a very high degree of confidence in a story to take it on. While yours certainly has its merits, I’m just not quite convinced it’s one for me. Another agent may feel differently – it’s such a subjective business.
I’m also sorry that I can’t offer editorial comment or advice on your story. We receive an overwhelming and ever-growing number of submissions and are narrowly clinging on to giving all even one response.

So, how bad is this one on the rejection response scale ( i think it's a form variety)? Also, after how many rejections did you guys feel that maybe it's never gonna happen? At least she said it has "merit"....but if it is a form rejecion...then I guess that means nothing.
