Tell the Agent

Just got another rejection, but even though it was a form letter it was professional looking, on letterhead and signed by a real person. As a professional myself, I appreciate that, and I just wanted to say so.

Those of you who trouble yourselves to respond this way, even when sending out form letters, rest assured it's appreciated.

I don't think it's gender that dictates how polite the response is. Some men and women are courteous, others not so much. . .I've received very polite forms from men and women, and very abrupt rejections from both as well. . .

After my wife and I noticed how much kinder the rejection letters written by female agents are, I decided to limit myself to this softer landing every time.

Really? Interesting. Anyway, it was guy.
