Same here. Sometimes there will be 1-2 songs that inspire a scene or two, but for the most part, I just cannot write in silence.

Most recently, "Jar of Hearts" by Christina Perri inspired a scene in the novel I'm working on.

I love them, too! Really inspirational, but probably not a typical playlist band.

I have some Clash, 90s grunge, flamenco, and a lot of Moby and Stellastarr.

Usually there's all kinds of goth/industrial nonsense, but right now, much to my neighbors' annoyance, there's dubstep. Lots of dubstep.
And Infected Mushroom.

Kate Miller-Heidke's new album, Nightflight, is amazing. The title track and this song are pure gorgeous. I could seriously link every song on the album though, it's that awesome.

I'm not so much writing to this album as I was reading Wanderlove with it on repeat

Sadly I do not have a playlist, as I don't normally listen to music while I write. I either write on my breaks at work, or head to Starbucks and overhear their music, without really listening to it. I find if I listen to music and try to write, I'll stop to hear the full song before starting to write--then I'll stop again if I get to another good song, and the process just repeats itself.

Cool! I was just about to mention them. I am totally unable to concentrate if I listen to music with lyrics, but I also live in an apartement with constant noise surrounding me, so I have to listen to SOMETHING. Two Steps From Hell is perfect, and it's inspirational when you're writing action scenes!

Has anyone heard of Thomas Burgerson? He used to be a composer for Two Steps, and then he started his own thing,he's fantastic!

Does anyone ever get entire story ideas from a song? My WIP idea came when I was listening to the song Twenty-Four, by Jem. I just got flashes of really cool scenes in my head and then started writing down stuff and the plot came together.
