I'm looking to venture into self-publishing, and I need for an editor to hire. While there's no commitment, I'm hoping to find someone I can form a relationship with to take on a number of projects, starting with a novelette immediately.

My writing is generally humorous speculative fiction and high fantasy, and familiarity with similar genres is a plus.

At this point, I'm trying to get someone with good references and a strong portfolio. If you can recommend an such an editor for hire, or point me to a place to find one, it'd be much appreciated.

If there is a more appropriate place for this on the forum, I apologize. I waffled between a few categories before I finally settled on this one.

Dr. Debra Doyle might be an excellent fit. See her website here. In the spirit of full transparency, I should note that she's the wife of James Macdonald, AW's Uncle Jim.

Like any recommended editor, I urge you to check this one out independently.

I'll second the recommendation for Dr Doyle.

Nicola Griffith of Sterling Editing is also said to be very good.
