Does anyone else own this book? I have amassed a collection of writing books (described on various websites and top-ten lists as "essential" or "great"), but never have I come across a recommendation for this beauty. I picked it up because it was next to Stanley Fish in the library and the title looked charming.
This book is a cardiac syringe full of good advice. It's tailored for the Hemingway/Chandler-inclined writer (minimal, punchy, journalistic), but I think anyone would enjoy his straight style. Highly recommended.
Why isn't it more widely known?
