From the L.A. Times: Is the spec script making a comeback??

Thank you , MrJayVee! Interesting and heartening reading as I've just started down that road myself!

I'm wondering if it has something to do with the glut of remakes and reboots that have flooded the entertainment industry over the last few years.

A few more spec scripts getting mega-attention is a good thing for all of us: writers, actors, producers, and viewers.

A little ray of sunshine for the rest of us.

Having optioned my spec script in February to two producers in LA - I can attest to much of the content. I'm currently re-writing it - for a NEW producer (Higher up the food chain) who wants it a specific way - for a much bigger studio.

The trick is to find the producers LOOKING for good spec scripts. I happened to meet these two at the Austin Film Festival last October.
