I want to open my novel with a Bible verse. Is there a certain way to format this? Do I center the verse on its own page before the opening scene, or do I put it slightly above "Chapter One?"

Thanks! :)

If you are submitting to an agent of editor, put the verse where you would want it to appear in the final book. If you want it to be a subtitle, put it on the title page. If you want it centered on a separate page, like an acknowledgement, put it centered on a separate page. If you want it to appear, centered, above the words 'Chapter One', put it there.

... and so on.

The publishing house may have a preferred style for this sort of subheading. You can discuss this with your editor at length in the line editing stage. You don't need to worry about it till then, really.

If you are self-publishing, you get to make these decisions.
