The Rejections I Deserve

Well, if they reject the query letter then they never get to reject the manuscript, eh?

I am very confused by this thread, are you actually seeking advice or are you just here to vent (which is totally reasonable)? Because all you keep saying over and over is that your queries suck, when we ask you how you know your queries suck you say you read them and they suck. So then we ask you why you send out sucky queries and you just say you do.

To me this sounds more like someone who's feeling sad and is beating up themselves than someone talking in a pragmatic fashion. It's hard to truly know if your queries actually aren't good and you are aware of it yet are still stubbornly sending them out, or if you really only think they suck because you get rejections, not because when you read them you think they suck.

At any rate, what would you like from us? Would you like some good old fashioned empathy or do you want advice? Help us help you.
