Cheering you all on!
Passed 40K. Might be continuing slowly the rest of the day.

I had hopes to make 25k but only got one extra thousand written today.
At this rate, Sage you'll be finished in a few days.

I'm way behind at 3771 words, but some of that was earlier this evening at Atlanta's Evening of Writing Wildly. It was potluck food, and someone was so decadent as to bring candied bacon (this is not a joke - it was sugar-coated bacon). I hadn't heard of such a thing.

I won a panda hat:

Nice hat. :)

Well, I just highlighted 4 readings for sociology... The exam is in 12 days, and I've only now got all the required reading highlighted. Tomorrow begins my descent into madness (read: making notes about what I think will be relevant in the exam, looking up key terms, etc.).

I'm coming to the realisation that I won't be writing any fiction until after my exam is over. That's on the 24th, so if I start writing when I get home, I'll have 5.5 days of NaNo...

I'm still intending to get 20-25k written in that time... 4-5k per day? I can do that. :)

I have to get this WIP finished though - editing 2 novels in December. Don't want to be struggling to finish the first draft when I'm meant to be editing!

I'm back!

...somewhat.

I had to stop writing for 3 days, but I bounced back today. From 14,631 I'm now at 16,894.

Not a lot, but all things considered: I'm okay with it :)

Two not-so-great days, but hit 21k today, and then threw in another few hundred for good measure.

Chris Baty's pep talk was exactly what I needed to read.

You guys are doing so well! :)

I've slowed a bit in the last few days as I've got a work deadline coming up. I'm still writing every day though (trying for 500 words minimum) and have passed 18k.

Planning to have a bumper writing session on Saturday, after my deadline!

And I agree, vitani, Chris Baty's pep talk was one of the best from NaNo so far.

Don't hate me, but I'm just short of 86,000. I'm aiming to complete the book at 100,000 by the end of the month, though it may turn out longer than that.

Made notes on 6 of 15 readings relevant to my upcoming exam. Tomorrow I intend to get the rest done... Then it's a matter of learning the material, to the point of knowing my shit without needing to look it up.

The exam is only 2 hours, and I need to be able to write at least 1500 words for it... I'm a slow handwriter, so I'm stressing out about this. The more I understand the material, the faster I should be able to get my thoughts down on paper.

Yesterday I hit 26,770 words. I need 3,236 words to reach 30K.

Today, I am challenging myself to reach 30K by 7 a.m. It is currently 4:13 a.m here.

I'll come back and let you guys know the results. :e2salute:

Hit The End yesterday with 25847. Ooops. Won't be behind until the 16th, so I guess I have 'till then to figure out if this thing can grow enough or I do 2 projects for naNo.

I've been following this thread and it never ceases to panic me. I'm on 17000 (roughly) and have worked out I need to do around 2000 words a day to finish on time. That's accessible, but I just feel 17000 is next to nothing considering it's day 13. I admire everyone that has come so far in this challenge, congratulations!
