AHHHH. I'm weeping. So, so beautiful.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I have a soft spot for that story, marked the beginnings of my writing in modular form.

Hi,

Two recent stories accepted:

"The Legacy of Mark Nipple" for Pedestal Magazine
"Celebrating Sidney" for Stealing Time Magazine.

So exciting!

Hey all, I'm new to W1S1, though been around AW for a while.

I've just started a regimen of writing and subbing one short a week. This week was a Poe-esque little number for Asimov's. See how that goes, it's my first short submission.

I've also been writing an epic serial on my blog, called Orphans of the Celestial Sea, which started weekly, but has been moved up to bi-weekly. It keeps me pretty busy but I've managed the pace so far. It's been getting awesome reviews from my small pool of readers. I'm disappointed it's not reaching a larger audience, but still working on figuring out how best to get the word out there.

Congrats Aggy, nice one. And Evelyn, I had been wondering if anyone around these parts would get into the Mark Nipple issue of Pedestal. Good on you!

I second the welcome to Drachen - hope you enjoy writing lots of shorts!

Congrats Evelyn -- The Pedestal is a tough market to get a sale.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

Mark Nipple was fun. I wrote the story from Mark's daughter's perspective - and I made her a horrible, awful excuse of a person who hates her dad and can't see him for who he really is. I had so much fun with her! I turned that girl into a monster. Mwaaa haaa haaa!

I've been writing and submitting short stories lately, so I thought I would drop in here once in a while (hopefully with good news, if not... I'll be in Rejectomancy!)

Good luck to all you wonderful writer people!

Evelyn

Congrats,y'all!

I am here to brag that as of 5:15 p.m,I officially finished a book in all of my genres! *can't tell me nothing,Kanye voice*

I made the announcement to my brothers and all I got from them were blank stares and snide comments that football was on.

I tell you,nobody appreciates a writer's genius!

I wish you all well!

Approx. 45 days to a sale of "Things We Leave Behind" to Daily Science Fiction! I'm thrilled for several reasons: first, it's another DSF sale which is my favorite SF market. Second, its a 2500 word story which makes it my first Friday story sale to them. Third, this story is about 80% autobiographical (except for the magic part, sadly) and deals with immigration from Russia to the US.

In short, woot!
