At the moment, I'm partial to Sarah Millican. You also can't beat Adam Hills, Kevin Bridges, Dara O'Briain and Ross Noble. Yay!

Last night, I needed a good laugh. So I went on ytub and found live performances from some of my all time favorite stand ups. Jackie Mason, George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Lenny Bruce, then a newer guy who I'd almost forgotten about (Been a while since I remembered how important laughter is) And this guy is fall down, laugh out loud (forgive me LOL funny) ... Tom Papa! That's Tom Papa Ladies and Gentleman...

I've just discovered John Mulaney, and about gave myself a hernia at work the other day, listening to Grooveshark with my headphones on and trying not to laugh out loud, because he was so damned funny!

George Carlin .

Robin Williams - always

Eddie Izzard

Currently Kathleen Madigan
- Kiddo introduced me to her stand up after screaming "Oh my God, ma, I heard this woman and thought you were on NetFlix!"

Seems we kinda share a personality. Who knew?

George Carlin - saw him in college - he is the king
Steven Wright - also saw him in college - great stuff
Kathy Griffin - Chicago gal - love her skewing of pop culture
Louis CK - right now the best of the best - no one is funnier or more prolific than he. The Cinnabon bit is classic. And the deer bit. And the Driving bit. All genius! I saw him last year and loved it!

Steve Hofstetter is my most recent comic of choice. I discovered him when I was looking for videos of comics dealing with hecklers. I got to see him perform live at the Hard Rock Café in Boston and he is currently my major influence next to Mitch Hedberg.

One time I took my mother to see Jackie Mason in Hollywood. At one point he stops and asks if there are any Italians in the audience. We were sitting a few row out stage right and sheepishly raised our hands. He turned stage left and said, "We'll talk later."

Of course he didn't let our presence stop him from doing that part of his act. For anybody who doesn't know, this guy is one of the funniest humans on the planet. And, as old as he is, he's still on the planet. I love Jackie Mason.

Sorry to necro, but I came in here looking for some new names, and will drop off a few that I didn't see listed:

Arj Barker - Slightly deranged and irreverent, his 'character' and delivery make it.

"So I found a grey hair in my beard the other day, and I thought this can only mean one of two things... Either one, I'm getting old... *makes a face*, or two... *conspiratorial whispering* I'm becoming a wizard!

Jimmy Carr - Incredibly offensive but so damn clever, amazing one liners, high brow low brow humour. Not for the faint of heart but if you take it all in good nature just hilarious.

Michael Mcintyre - Domestic slice of life stuff with a very over the top style. Brilliant.

Bo Burnham. I know he does the music thing but watch his latest special, it's way more than a bunch of songs.
