Random Question: Have you ever had someone "highly" recommend a book to you but you ended up pretty disappointed by it once you read it?

YES! I was so disappointed that I was nearly offended. And then I got over it.

Also...gave two weeks' notice at ye olde, soon to be ex-, job this morning.

@Bugz- It would make sense had it been the same old place. Is that what you meant? If so, your brain has been switching the words for you from the day of the name change until today. Congrats on your newfound power over your devious subconscience.

Really?! :gaah

Bugz: Was is The Same Old Place before?

I would have sworn it was, but Fen seems to be saying that no, I'm just crazy. Or devious. Or...wait...

But... but... Isn't my happiness much more important than yours? :D

It is equally important, my dear, except on Fridays in the northern-most U.S. state. Void where prohibited.

Hillz: WOOOOOOOOOO!

Bugz: Was is The Same Old Place before?

OOOOOOOOOOW! Hmm. Not quite the same thing.

Was is was?

So my husband was able to confirm that what we thought were coyotes were actually TWO packs of wild dogs. He confirmed this when they came up into our south field just at dusk. That's less than a hundred yards from the house. So not good news.

So I've spent the last hour walking through the field with my husband, sister, and brother in law, hunting dogs. And, since I was the slowest on my feet, guess who ended up with the weakest gun?

And the most irritating part? We didn't get the damned dogs!

Wait, wild dogs still exist?

I survived my first week at the new day job!

Tomorrow, I have to go pee in a cup. :e2bummed:

But now, I am having a salmon burger.

 I'm even taking about two weeks off before starting my new job, so I'll either have time to rock on my WIP, or to complete developmental edits on Messenger II if those arrive by then.

Yay!

On a Saturday? Lame.

But now, I am having a salmon burger.

Noms. :)

Poor deviously crazy but mostly confuzzled Bugz. And possibly Gina :)

KL- domestic dogs will go feral and form packs quite easily. So yeah, wild. Is that what you were wondering?

I have had pet dogs all my life so I struggle to see them as wild.

*is so ignorant*

So, uh, with this new Avengers movie, I was watching the trailer... Not only do I not see a drop of Whedons genius (and okay, genius is hard to capture in a trailer, but it looks like any ole action film); but complaint two- who the hell is the big bad?! Aliens? What the fruittrailer?

Isn't it Loki? I thought I saw the actor from Thor on the Avengers trailer, but I'm not sure.

I'm having faith that a movie involving both Whedon and Robert Downey Jr. cannot fail.

It's Loki and his peeps.

And it's all the actors from the Marvel pre-Avengers movies. A lot of Whedon's genius comes from the group interaction, IMHO, and this is an ensemble cast. Except a lot of them are super egotistical, so I'm not sure how well that'll work. However, with Mark Ruffalo...*spaces out, smiling wistfully*

Avengers! I'm waiting....gittery...but waiting....got no choice.....I'm too far away....jonesing.....AT least Japan gets movies really really quick.

I have invented a new rule for writers. And this is said in humor. Really.

Unlike all the other "don't use adverbs" "avoid the passive voice" type rules. This is one that it is Okay to add "never" to. Do not break it, unless of course you are a weapons master and in full body armor. Even then, the odds are against you.

Here goes.

"Never piss off the YA brigade"

They will eat you alive.
