Goodnight FP. :)

It's nothing like Texas.

It does get hot, but never for too long. Benefits of being next to the lake, in that it helps regulate the temps in the summer.

You may now be jealous.

:D

Is jealous. And a lake nearby would really be great. I love to fish. *sigh*

Summer rules here without airconditioning:

No candles in the house.
No chocolates (unless kept in the frig)
Bread gets moldy within a day. (unless kept in the fridge)
Cats sleep by fridge and don't move all day (leave lots of water for them)
Strip down as soon as you get off work and grab cold wet rags to put on neck.
Try not to dehydrate and die

It stays anywhere from 95 to 114 in the summer. Candles turn into a puddle of wax. I still have to scrape some off my shelf in the livingroom. :( I love candles and often forget to store some of them away before summer hits.

I don't think you're meant to live in places like Arizona and Texas without airconditioning. Every year several people die from the heat here. :/

I got heat-exhaustion at 12 on a field trip. Lucky I didn't get heatstroke. :/

and there's always swamp/evaporative coolers. ;)

We slept in this morning. Even the dogs did. All the way to 8AM. It was pretty nice, actually.

Debating on what I want to do for food, though. I'm finally starting to get hungry.

I'm having one piece of french toast, a swipe of butter, and a tbsp of syrup. That comes to roughly 180 calories :D

*but I lost another pound and a half this morning. :)

I know it's just water-weight at this point, but I'm still pleased.

I'm hoping to get back into at least some of my 'thinner clothes' in time for summer to hit [another month or so].

I had bought all these cute things when I was sick and lost 50lbs 2 years ago - and then I gained it all back after a year. :(
So, if I can lose 15lbs I'll be back in half the stuff. 20lbs and I can fit all of it again, because I bought stuff that stretched or had drawstrings, while I was sick and continually losing all that weight.

~that's my goal anyway. ;)

Good luck with it. I've tried and could never do that--the calorie counting stuff. Limiting my portions, yeah, but don't ask me to do math. It's just not going to happen.

I did it for 10 months, starting the summer before my Sophmore year, and lost the 50lbs then [healthfully].

It got to be routine, and to where I didn't have to measure things anymore. I just knew what they were by looking at them. :) Trying to get back to that again. ;)

Cute VInce!

They look so pretty!

ETA: just saw movie trailer for DARK SHADOWS. What a hoot! A real riot. Depp never fails to amuse, and this looks like it will be first Pirates of the Carribean 'good'. :D

My book moved up to # 54 on the editing queue this morning.

Also, my gift cards came for Walmart!! I can get my IPAD!!

At least I can go get it as soon as the local Walmart by me gets another one in.

I got my rejection on the Full.

The agent said she liked the book very much, and that the characters had great chemistry, the pacing was great, the plot was really intriguing - she just didn't fall wholly in love with it.

:(

I'm a little confused. Pleased, because those are all good things, but still confused.

Sorry to hear that, PD. That's great encouragement, though. Good luck with the new batch!

Sorry about your R, PD. At least she offered some positive feedback. *hugs*

If it makes you feel any better, I had a bit of a rough day too. I spent the afternoon/ early evening in the hospital, feeling like i was being punched in the stomach, constantly. Apparently my gallbladder may not be functioning properly. Now, I'm on a diet too... A liquid diet. It's only been 7 hours since I had solid food and I'm already hangry enough to hold up the nearest fast food joint.
