Four Part Romance Series: $600-$1000 USD for 30k short story

This is a 'work for hire' position for talented freelance writers to work in a ghostwriting capacity with a short story format. The writer must focus on creating an engaging piece of fiction of the Contemporary Romance and Erotica genre, with interesting plot and characters.

Our conditions are flexible and we never ask for exclusivity leaving you free to continue your own work, while also earning a steady and reliable income from our projects. VaskoBooks focuses on exceptional communication and promptness of payment once the work is delivered. We offer competitive rates for all our writers and use oDesk as an aggregator for all our projects with the opportunity of ongoing work with scalable income based on results. You will also have the additional benefit of working closely with an editor who will help you to achieve outstanding results and ensure continued work.

Terms are negotiable, but general job details are:

  • 4 part Adult Fiction Erotic Series for Contemporary Women readers
  • The first book must be a minimum of 10,000 words; book 2, 3 and 4 around the 7000 word mark, totaling approximately 30,000 words.
  • Each series to be completed within 5-6 weeks of the job being accepted. A bonus to be given if completed on time
  • Payment amount is determined upon application, but approximate rates are between $600-800USD per series
  • Fiction sample MUST be provided for consideration and this should include graphic depictions of romantic activity
  • Stories must be 100% original work and pass copyscape, and the author will need to sign a release and non-compete agreement.

Can you clarify the "never ask for exclusivity" statement? The post goes on to say that you require a non-compete, which sounds like you do ask for exclusivity of some sort.

Our conditions are flexible and we never ask for exclusivity...

  • Stories must be 100% original work and pass copyscape, and the author will need to sign a release and non-compete agreement.

Hi Caromora,

What we mean by 'never ask for exclusivity' is that we never require writers to work for us exclusively - they are still free to work on their other projects whilst also ghostwriting short stories for us. The stories themselves will be exclusively owned by us.
