I'm going to do the smart thing and not contribute to this topic of sexing up octopi. :D

No. No "up." Adding that preposition completely changes the nature of the conversation.

Fen knows exactly what I meant, whether she's inclined to admit it or not.

:D

You're quite right. I really didn't help did I?

OK, how / why are we discussing octopus? I'm still confused.

Did Abby's octopus img not load for you? I think it was top of the last page.

You don't think "3 years sexing octopuses" would look good on a resume?

Not unless you are applying to an aquarium for the position of lead octopi breeder.

Just make sure the position means what you think it means, and won't require you to get into odd positions with octopi.

And my leg doesn't hurt so much right now, so I'm going to do the best thing for all of your sakes and run like hell as far away from my laptop as I can for the next hour or so.

(Or listen to some drunk guys make fun of bad games on YouTube.)

I was imagining something similar. With a soundtrack running in my head...

The poor octopi.
I've just recently watched an episode of D.Gray-Man where this happens, so you can imagine what my mind was like when talk of sexing octupi came up.

And no, that link is nothing innapropriate. Just... bizarre, really.

...on my pirate ship.
I'm stepping away from the octopi sexing convo. o_O

How's this for a pulp-y Cantina cover?

pulp-o-mizer_cover_image.jpg

Awesome!

And, cue panic:

*runs around* Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

*runs more*

*smashes into random smibble piles*

:chair

*crawls into the editing cave*

*crawls back out*

My baby has now been subbed to Strange Horizons. It might not be to their tastes. I need them to love it. *hyperventilates*

Okay, I'm good. I swear. *checks status update page* *refreshes* ... *refreshes* ... *checks email even though the iPhone instantly notifies me when I have mail*

GOOD LUCK!!! Fingers crossed for you! :D

Cute x 3!

Whenever people get uppity about SF/F being sexist, and expecting authors to be mostly male, I point to romance as being the most sexist of genres - anything written by a guy has to be disguised to get into the hands of the reading public. Double standards? Oh yes. Does anyone want to do anything about it? Apparently not...

And it is much easier to pick on the geeks, right? *sulks*

(and that is one of the reasons things like Women In Horror month is appealing, but I already caused a kerfuffle in the Hounds when I explicitly approved of highlighting women in a genre so I'll leave off that here)

Heh. Unless you're Nicolas Sparks. Granted, he's not exactly genre romance, but pretty darn close.

And SF&F writers aren't the only ones who are picked on. :tongue

My girlfriend just overheard me saying something. And I won't say exactly what I said, but it's along the lines of "to hell with cephalopods".

Her reaction was roughly in the vein of ":Wha:".

The internet is really good at making me look stupid in front of my girlfriend. :D

Hello friends.

I haz a :( because I won't be getting my computer back for 2-3 weeks. On the bright side, they will recover all my files.

So now I need to find a nice notebook to use.

It works for me... weird. Oh well, it was essentially just a picture of an anime character with a gigantci fake octopus on his head.

Didn't work for me, either.

Got a stern warning about using the proper share links or some such.

It probably works for you bcs you're the one who linked it.
