our bun refuses to do anything as sensible as sit against something cold! eyeroll, you assume he has sense! he sits against the cold window at night in the winter, otherwise he just lies there and looks hot.

Lol!

Back from the vet.

Good news - some improvement so no surgery/specialist vsit for now.

Bad news - another week of 6x day drops and oinkment for poor old Silken puppy.

I am a terrible dog mum indeed.

Here, there, everywhere.
If he's improving, it means you're doing your job right. That means you're the best dog mummy he could want. :)

I was having a discussion about this with my friend.

Do you think that dogs and cats know bad people from good?

I think this is an interesting one since animals almost universally adore my dad.

My bunny, on the other hand, turns his furry little nose up at him. I think he does it just to annoy him.

My friend was also discussing how her dogs only bark and certain people. They have never ever barked at me, although they do get excited to see me.

Discuss

Well, I'd never trust anyone my dog was iffy about. So I'd say yes, I believe.

She's a nice dog, a bit aloof to people she doesn't know but still nice enough. She was a show dog as a puppy so she's well socialised, but over the attention. Will bark at strangers but if you tell her to be nice she settles down.

But the neighbour? OMG! She goes ballistic over the fence if he ever comes up to the house (I'm on acreage so it's rare that he does) froths and foams. I swear to god she'd eat him if she could.

And he is a dodgy bastard - wouldn't trust him as far as I could spit a dead rat.

I remember one night when I lived in the burbs with my ex, the Indian takeaway delivery guy turned up at the door.

Silken went from passed out on the bed to trying to rip his throat out through the screen door in0.25 seconds. Always considered him a dodgy bastard after that lol!

Oh and she's a weimaraner so she's big enough that when she goes nuts - she's very scary indeed.

I had to google that to see what type of dog it was. She must be gorgeous.

I've never owned a dog, but I do love animals. The bun is more than enough work. I'd love to have a cat, one day. Bunnies are sweeties but they're very highly strung. Ours can be a total sook or an absolute jerk.

He loves to climb on my lap while I'm doing my makeup. It's really cute, except for the time he stamped through a makeup palette and his claws scratched holes in it. I make sure I keep all my products closed when he's around now!

I imagine a fat one would look kind of like the dog in The Triplets of Belleville:

Naaaaw! Too cute!

I don't have any of my bun bun on this computer, I checked her records at the vets today and she is 9.:)

I do have pics of the Luna, the devil child yearling though...

This him on his first birthday 29/10/10

I have nightmares about feathered horses (the furry feet are called feathers). We have lots of cobblers pegs inthe paddocks out here ...*shudders*:tongue

Ugh! I just went toe to toe with a first draft 'concept sentence', You know the ones where you say to yourself "I don't have time to struggle to word this well, just get the concept out, you can fix it in the rewrite?" ;)

It was a bloody battle. Yet I climbed atop the fetid corpse of the jumble that was, and triumphant, held aloft the shiny new version. God it was exhausting!

I distinctly remember 'I'll catch it in the re write being uttered more times than I care to think about too.

Mental note. Next book, spend a full week on a written in stone outline so that I don't have to chase down ideas as the run away. It'll be worth it in the end when I come to rewrite.

Oh and here's a pic of Luna the day he came to live with me - he turned 5 months old that day. I have fond memories of him being tiny and cute ... before he turned evil.

OMG I totally hear you on the rewrite thing. I've got one particular I'm working on right now. During my re-read, I realised that with the beta suggestions, Emily already knows how she feels about my Male MC's competition. She's not interested because she's interested in the male MC.

after he offers her a relationship, this is what she says:

He slid his hands through my hair, then cupped my face. "You're amazing. You really are. I don't want Mason and Trigget handling this place. I want you handling it. Hell, I'm screwing this up entirely."
His frustrated and confused grimace had me laughing. "Seriously, Astor. It's fine. Look, give me some time to think about it, okay? I just got out of this ..." I wondered how to word it. "Intense relationship and I'm not really sure what I want right now. I've barely even been a vampire for a week yet, I have trouble handling my Emotive response and I have the business deal of the century to sign off on. I've just got a lot on my plate right now, and I don't want to blow you off simply because I'm too busy to handle anything else, you know?"

does it make it hard to like her, when she's effectively leading him on? I don't know how to end their conversation without her making a choice. She's not just going to say 'no' because he turns out to be a mean bad guy, so if she said no, he'd blow his top maybe.

I figured this was open ended but now it makes her look a bit like a biatch.

More cold than bitchy. She doesn't sound angsty enough for someone with all that on her plate. Too calm.

Plus, are you going to clean up the 'frustrated and confused grimace' thing? She can't know that's what he feels and all that. I'd just go with grimace myself.

And I'd stick a beat in before he says hell, to signal it's a break in thought, otherwise it reads a bit off.

Ignore me if you were already on your way to them, I'm in hardcore edit mode and the eagle eye cannot be denied.;)

awesome! Eagle eyes is totes what I need.

Hmm. She feeds on emotion, so she knows what he's feeling, but that's a good point, I need to watch out for that.

I wonder how I can make her seem less calm. Maybe she could just be distracted. I don't know how to handle this scene anymore.

*sad face*

ugh, am I the only one that just reads the story when editing, until I'm unable to see what I started off looking for?

I get caught up in the story and forget why I'm reading it.

I dunno, I'd have her glance at her feet or to the wall, maybe fiddle with something. Make her move in a way that reads as uncertainty - or whatever it is she's feeling.

Show us she is having trouble with the convo. Deep breathes, racing hearts that sort of thing - whatever fits the emotion.

If she feeds on emotions then I'd be more inclined to have waves of frustration emanating from him - or however she senses these things.

Just emerged from another epic concept battle!

Tremble all Words - for you shall obey me!:D

high five!

My editing went okay today. Loads of little changes that tightened stuff up.

But seriously, I think it's never going to be ready, you know? As in, I think it will take another beta to be ready for submission.

We could exchange, if you wanted?

*plonks butt in chair*

Long day. When I got home, the cat scratched my foot. Gee, thanks!

I'm going to have to write some more lyrics tonight. I really should've done them last night, but I was in full veg mode.

Oh, and last night I broke a guitar string that I didn't have a replacement for. D'oh!

Yeah, sure. Once I've finished this run we can swap.:)

But not until it's finished - which will most likely take the rest of the month I am afraid.

How was your day Cliff?

I am breaking my carb free existence in favour of pasta tonight - YUUUUUM! I blame bloody Evan from The Secret Life of Us.
Every time I watch an episode from the box set I gave mum for Christmas, he is cooking pasta. Which makes me crave it. Three days is as long as I can fight the urge.

Must. Have. Pasta. Now.

Mind you- he makes it fresh from scratch, I use the dried stuff. I make my own sauce though...;)

Last time I made it I had to use garlic chives because I had no real garlic.

It was a bitter disappointment.

So tonight - THREE cloves of garlic. Muahahahaha! I won't need to fear vampires for a week.:D

Ugh! The battles continue ... concept holders suck dogs balls!

40 minutes on one short freaking paragraph.

*sigh*

At least it's good now.:)

4 pages left in ch3 ... 45 mins of Dexter left. Can I finish the chapter before the show finishes?

Possibly NOT! I can try though.

Annnnnd I did it! Hit save at 11.11 - isn't that supposed to be lucky or something?

Now - Goodnight Australia!
