Hey! I just updated to Windows 8.1 because my computer kept insisting. Now, I've got the most annoying search bar and app menu at the bottom of my screen. It limits my screen size by about 1/8, and it WILL. NOT. LEAVE.

I can't concentrate online with this stupid bar at the bottom. How do I get rid of it?

I don't use W8, so I'm guessing here.

If you right-click on the toolbar area, do you get an option for Toolbars?

FIXED!!!

Oh, wow! I thought I had exhausted all my options with right clicking, but I finally found the spot that worked. :) I think it just needed Alley Cat's magic.

I had also lost my mouse's scroll function, so I was panicking earlier. Mouse is back and the search bar is gone! :)

There are a number of mouse operation options in Control Panel.

I'm going to mark the thread title Resolved.

Thanks. I had use trial and error to get the mouse working again, but everything is resolved.
