Yeah, I don't think it was that. It wouldn't have helped Nico anyway; with the car messed up he wasn't going to finish high enough to threaten even if Lewis didn't finish.

There was some fairly paranoid speculation about whether Lewis would take both himself and Nico out in the first turn, which *would* have helped Lewis. As it turned out, they weren't even close to each other in the first turn. What a spectacular start for Lewis; it looked perfect. Nico's start was fine, but fine falls short of perfect .

A fine win by Lewis, and I suspect Nico wouldn't have been close even without the problem. I've been impressed by Nico's graciousness post-race - I underestimated him in that regard.
