There’s something to be said for maturity and experience, whether it’s a second chance at love, a May/December romance, or finding a soul mate later in life. These stories prove that it’s never too late for new love.​

Three a.m. feedings, diaper changes, the terrible twos, separation anxiety, tween drama and teen angst – everyone is familiar with the difficulties of raising a family, but GLBT families face even more obstacles than most. Give us stories that tug the heartstrings, stir the soul, tickle the funnybone, and make us remember why families are the most precious things in life.

There’s always something about stories involving steampunk, cyberpunk, dieselpunk, biopunk, or any version of punk you enjoy that gets our cogs in a bunch. Bring us your corsets, body mods, goggles, clockwork, dystopias and bioengineered plots.

Silver & Gold

All love faces challenges, but one of the most difficult can be time. The distance of generations can be a hard one to cross, and judgment is frequent and heavy when a lover is too old or too young for society’s tastes. But love is also precious, and timeless, and worth all obstacles. Less Than Three Press invites authors to submit stories of people not afraid to bridge the span of time. Editor’s Note: No stories about vampires, etc., where the age difference is hundreds of years.
THE DETAILS:

• Deadline is February 28, 2015 (give or take, we won’t kill you for sending it off the following morning).
• Stories should be at least 10,000 words and should not exceed approx 20,000 words in length.
• Stories must feature a MAY/DECEMBER relationship, budding or established. This means an age difference of at least ten years.
• Stories may be any pairing except cisgender heterosexual M/F (trans* M/F, M/M, F/F, poly, and all permutations thereof are acceptable).
• Stories must have a happily ever after (HEA) or happy for now (HFN) end.
• Any sub-genre is gladly accepted: sci-fi, mystery, contemporary, steampunk, etc.
• All usual LT3 submission guidelines apply.

Silver and Gold is a general release anthology, which means authors will receive a flat payment of $200.00 once LT3 has a signed contract. Authors will receive one copy each of the ebook formats LT3 produces and two copies of the paperback compilation.
Stories should be complete before submitting, and as edited as possible—do not submit a first draft. They can be submitted in any format (doc, docx, rtf, odt, etc) preferably single spaced in an easy to read font (Times, Calibri, Arial) with no special formatting (no elaborate section separation, special fonts, etc). Be it cowboys of the Wild West, ranchers building something new on a distant colony, or a clever steampunk train robber, Less Than Three Press invites you to submit stories of people who have the grit to survive in the Devil’s Land.

Everyone's Irish on St. Patrick's Day

From the celebrations in Chicago and New York to the quiet hills of Ireland, everyone dons green on March 17th. The veil between the worlds is the thinnest it is all year. Celebrate all that is Irish on this day. From green beer to the Blarney stone, from green-dyed rivers in the US to an ancient castle in Ireland, the settings are as endless as the legends of Ireland.

Raise Your Heart Rate

What is it about a man in a white coat? Ooooh, or scrubs? Why does that make a heart rate accelerate and other things raise? The man behind the degree (whether it's a medical or nursing degree) does more for his patients and their families than just practice medicine in some cases.

- Have at least one character that is in the medical field (doctor, nurse, physical therapist) and has medicine as a part of the story line (not just a characteristic of one of the MCs)

Memories

What's harder for a Soldier/Marine/Airman/Sailor than leaving on a deployment? Returning. Whether it's for R&R or redeployment. Whether it's yesterday or years ago. The happiness, anticipation and fear (yes, fear) are there. The memories of those they left behind were strong while they were gone; the might have been buried deep for survival but they were there. The memories that they bring home are just as strong.

Shades of the Rainbow
We want to explore all the colors of the rainbow that aren't gay and lesbian: bisexual, trans, queer, nonbinary, ace spectrum, etc. Your characters’ sexual and/or gender identity can either be central to the story or present but not the focus, but otherwise, genre is wide open. Build it brick by brick—or cog by gear—and immerse us in it. Show us how love blooms among the steam and gaslight.
We’re seeking romances or erotic romances, but not erotica. Brilliant plots and worlds with romantic elements rather than full-blown romances may also catch our eye. Any heat level is fine, but if sex happens, make absolutely certain it fits well within and contributes to the world you’ve created.

Have you written a novel-length female/female romance? We want it! Any genre, any setting, any focus. Historical ladies, contemporary ladies, ladies in suspense, romantic comedy ladies, paranormal ladies, futuristic ladies. Any and all female/female romance, send it our way. We're also accepting stories about aromantic ladies in any genre, though for this particular call, such stories should focus on a deep, exceptional friendship between two or more women.
