Yep, it's that time again. Anyone can add erotica or erotic romance submission calls that are due in 2015 to this thread. Please bold or colorize the end date of the call to make it easier for those browsing. Thanks!

Note: The first few calls are carried over from the 2014 thread. Nevermind, there wasn't many, and I'll post all the Torquere calls here.

Please check the publisher's website for submission information, etc, and if there has been any changes to the submission call. I am not affiliated in any way with these publishers.

Silver & Gold

All love faces challenges, but one of the most difficult can be time. The distance of generations can be a hard one to cross, and judgment is frequent and heavy when a lover is too old or too young for society’s tastes. But love is also precious, and timeless, and worth all obstacles. Less Than Three Press invites authors to submit stories of people not afraid to bridge the span of time. Editor’s Note: No stories about vampires, etc., where the age difference is hundreds of years.
THE DETAILS:

  • Deadline is February 28, 2015 (give or take, we won’t kill you for sending it off the following morning).
  • Stories should be at least 10,000 words and should not exceed approx 20,000 words in length.
  • Stories must feature a MAY/DECEMBER relationship, budding or established. This means an age difference of at least ten years.
  • Stories may be any pairing except cisgender heterosexual M/F (trans* M/F, M/M, F/F, poly, and all permutations thereof are acceptable).
  • Stories must have a happily ever after (HEA) or happy for now (HFN) end.
  • Any sub-genre is gladly accepted: sci-fi, mystery, contemporary, steampunk, etc.
  • All usual LT3 submission guidelines apply.

Additional formatting guidelines can be found at their website!
IMPORTANT: This anthology is being coordinated and edited by one of LT3’s senior editors, Amanda Jean. To submit, please send your manuscript to ajeansubmissions @ gmail.com. Include the following in your email:

From a contemporary tale that defy society expectation of a happy couple, to a fantasy world where three or more is the expectation, Less Than Three Press invites you to submit stories about people who find that love sometimes has room for more.
THE DETAILS:

  • Deadline is JANUARY 31, 2015 (give or take, we won’t kill you for sending it off the following morning).

Everyone's Irish on St. Patrick's Day

From the celebrations in Chicago and New York to the quiet hills of Ireland, everyone dons green on March 17th. The veil between the worlds is the thinnest it is all year. Celebrate all that is Irish on this day. From green beer to the Blarney stone, from green-dyed rivers in the US to an ancient castle in Ireland, the settings are as endless as the legends of Ireland.
Submissions should:
- Be set primarily around St. Patrick's Day or Ireland
- Be a minimum of 10k, maximum of 40k
- Any subgenre is welcome and all prohibitive guidelines are observed
- Submissions should be sent to special_submissions @ mlrpress.com
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: January 10, 2015 - stories to release on March 13, 2015
Any questions can be sent to Kris Jacen at KrisJacen @ mlrpress.com

-----------------------------------------
Raise Your Heart Rate

What is it about a man in a white coat? Ooooh, or scrubs? Why does that make a heart rate accelerate and other things raise? The man behind the degree (whether it's a medical or nursing degree) does more for his patients and their families than just practice medicine in some cases.
Submissions should:
- Have at least one character that is in the medical field (doctor, nurse, physical therapist) and has medicine as a part of the story line (not just a characteristic of one of the MCs)
- Be a minimum of 10k, maximum of 40k
- Any subgenre is welcome and all prohibitive guidelines are observed
- Submissions should be sent to special_submissions @ mlrpress.com
- Any questions can be sent to Kris Jacen at KrisJacen @ mlrpress.com
- Deadline for submissions: March 1, 2015.

----------------------------------

Memories

What's harder for a Soldier/Marine/Airman/Sailor than leaving on a deployment? Returning. Whether it's for R&R or redeployment. Whether it's yesterday or years ago. The happiness, anticipation and fear (yes, fear) are there. The memories of those they left behind were strong while they were gone; the might have been buried deep for survival but they were there. The memories that they bring home are just as strong.
Submissions should:
- Have at least one character that is (or has been) in the military and is returning home whether for good or R&R; can be someone that returned years ago
- SUBMISSION DEADLINE: March 1, 2015 - stories will release May 22, 2015 for Memorial Day

------------------------------

Rev Your Engines

Put on some leathers. Piercings? Tattoos? Straddle a motorcycle. Then hit the road. The bad boys catch our attention and our imaginations. What would happen on the open road? What about back at a club's bar. Motorcycle clubs are family. Breaking in to one or out of one could be the death of someone. In this close nit group figuring out love could be a challenge.
Submissions should:
- Have at least one character that is in a motorcycle club
- Be a minimum of 10k, maximum of 40k
- Any subgenre is welcome and all prohibitive guidelines are observed
- Submissions should be sent to special_submissions @ mlrpress.com
- Any questions can be sent to Kris Jacen at KrisJacen @ mlrpress.com
- Deadline for submissions: March 30, 2015.

Thunder of War, Lightning of Desire: Lesbian Historical Military Erotica (Working Title)

More than six hundred women—most likely many more—passed as men to fight in the American Civil War, and that’s not counting the nurses and spies. In WWI women served as nurses and ambulance drivers, and in Russia Maria Boskareva’s Women’s Battalion of Death was not the only group of female fighters. By WWII women were ferrying fighter planes in the US and the UK, and in Russia the “Night Witches” flew bombers. For the nurses and WACs in the Korean and Vietnam Wars the front lines were everywhere, and the “long-haired army” on the Viet Cong side fought al least as fiercely as any men.

Give me stories about passionate women finding each other amidst the storm of war, coming together for comfort, driven by adrenaline and hormones, hurling their pleasure into the teeth of mortality. From the nurses with Florence Nightingale in the Crimea to those with MASH units in Korea and Vietnam, from female soldiers taking shelter behind stone walls at Chancellorsville to French Resistance operatives trysting behind haystacks in Normandy, from any military conflict anywhere between 1850 and the 1970s, find a period you can be passionate about, research it until you know it more intimately than you remember yesterday, and write characters and a plot and fiery sex that can sweep readers right along with them. Diversity of characters is more than welcome.

I’ll only be taking a few stories from each time period, sometimes even just one, so feel free to tell me what you’re working on so I can tell you whether too many others are doing something similar. Inquiries are advisable, but not mandatory. Historical accuracy counts, and so do originality and intensity and all those elements we need to see in the best erotic fiction. Give me brief encounters or lifetime commitments even when life is in the balance; desperate embraces or dark humor; whatever your characters need to get them through the night, and through the war. Know your history as well as your characters, and write a story as intriguing as it is steamy.

THE DETAILS:

  • Deadline is April 30, 2015
  • The preferred story length is between 3000 and 6000 words.
  • Payment will be from $50 to $150, depending on length, and two copies of the paperback.
  • Queries are welcome; contact sacchigreen (at) gmail.com

Authors Wanted (FYI: I don't know if this is a new call, but I've never seen it before.)

Spring Break!

All through the winter you’ve been waiting for warm weather and the chance to break free! And spring is here at last. Loose Id wants hot romances 20,000k and up featuring what your protagonists (18-year-olds and older, please) did for summer break or summer vacation.

It could be a single mom who thinks the vacation will be all about dealing with the kids at home and underfoot only to be delightfully surprised, or the college student who was planning the vacation to Mexico until life derailed his plans, or the fresh from college employee who suddenly realizes spring break won’t be about drinking, sex and freedom.

Unleash your imagination and show us some sexily ever after.

Due: February 1 for your editor at LI if you have one or to our submissions editor if you don't. Should have Spring Break in the subject line. submissions @ loose-id.com

Open Call for late summer print release line

Merry Blacksmith Studio plans to release a line of erotic fiction and art books in time for appearances at some fetish-themed events later on this year. We're looking for novels or single-author story collections of 70,000-140,000 words with a strong erotic fetish theme. We're looking for stories that explore consensual BDSM and its varieties including animal and age roleplay, corporal punishment, high protocol service, and more. It should go without saying that depictions of real animals or children will not be considered, nor will use of any licensed characters or fan fiction. That said, we'd love it if some stories had some geek appeal--science fiction, fantasy, superhero, etc. We welcome the entire spectrum of human sexuality.

Standard terms include a 35% royalty from net earnings, plus discounted copies for authors. Distribution channels will include retailers and Amazon.

Right now we are only looking for non-exclusive print rights. We do not seek electronic, audio, or any other rights beyond yearly-negotiable print rights. This is the perfect opportunity for authors who have, thus far, only published electronically. (Any other questions regarding contract details can be sent to [email protected].)

Queries, submissions, or other questions can be sent to [email protected]. There is no set deadline, although we're looking to have the first books in our new line out by July of 2015.

Valves and Vixens Vol. 3

Hope it's okay that I'm posting this here... (not affiliated with the publisher or editor in any way but I plan to submit)

Call For Submissions

Valves & Vixens Volume 3
Editor: Nicole Gestalt
Publisher: House of Erotica
Deadline: August 31st 2015 (Early Submissions are preferred.)
Payment: Royalties will be split 40% of the net profits with contributing authors, exact values will be given once we know how many stories will be in the final anthology.
Rights: Six Years
Submission limit: Authors may submit up to two stories.

Word Count: 5k - 15k

Theme: Steampunk & Gaslight
Genre: Steampunk or Gaslight (magical steampunk) but any sub-genre is welcome be it Science Fiction, BDSM, Fantasy, historical, action, comedy, crime or any other!

Pairings: Any

Heat: Any level from romance to burning the pages of the book!

Editor/ Author Nicole Gestalt is looking for stories set in a might-have-been Victorian setting filled with clockwork machines and airships. Think Jules Verne or League of Extraordinary Gentleman, think Sherlock Holmes with clockwork machines and the film Wild, Wild West.

The stories do not have to be focused in the Victorian era they could be modern day stories but still with the Victorian clockwork style. They could even be off world – think spaceships powered by nothing but steam, or mighty metal boats propelled by sails powered by the rays of the sun. Be as inventive as you can but please don't forget the story line and the relationships! Since this is an erotic anthology there should be on the page sex scenes however don't forget the interaction between the characters and the relationship they have. The stories should either end with a Happy-For-Now or a Happy-Ever-After it would have to be a amazingly good story for me to select it if it didn't (but I am well prepared to have my opinion changed on that).

Nicole will be looking for stories that stand out so please don't just set your stories in London, they can be set anywhere in the world – or even off world. Don't be afraid to experiment

The No-No's: No scat, bestiality, under age sex, golden showers, rape or forced sex or incest of any kind and necrophilia (that does not include intelligent undead such as Vampires). If in doubt please ask

Format of submission: Please send the submissions double spaced in Times New Roman, 12 point black font. Indent the first line of each paragraph half an inch and double space (using normal double spacing please do not add an extra line between the paragraphs). Double quotation marks! Please submit your final, complete and totally edited version of the story. File format: .doc or .rtf. Since this is a British publisher UK spelling and grammar is greatly preferred.

In your document at the top left of the page please include you legal name, mailing address and a fifty words or less author bio written in the third person. If you are using a pen-name please provide both and make it clear which one you wish to use.

Please email your submissions to: [email protected]

Authors must own their rights to the stories and not have had them published anywhere else. Please note the publisher has final approval over the stories included in the manuscript.

Best Women’s Erotica 2016 (any updates will be made at http://bestwomenserotica2016.tumblr.com/post/113871637991/call-for-submissions-best-womens-erotica-2016)
Edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel
To be published by Cleis Press in 2016

For my first year as editor of the Best Women’s Erotica series, I want your best, hottest, most creative and diverse erotica stories, written by and starring a wide range of women, from single to coupled, living in big cities and small towns anywhere in the world, of various ages (18+), races, sexualities, fetishes, jobs, interests, life experiences. Stories in the final book will range from humorous and playful to intense and soulful.

I don’t want to limit your creativity, because I want these approximately 25 stories to be as dazzling, varied and sexy as possible. I want your very best work, the kind that will make readers want to savor your story over and over again. Some things I’m looking to include: stories by authors who’ve never been published in the Best Women’s Erotica series, stories by and about women of color, stories featuring women 40+, romantic erotica (doesn’t necessarily need to have a happy ending, but happy endings are wonderful too), stories involving more than two people, stories in unusual settings, erotica touching on current events (though the story should be one readers ten or twenty years from now will also appreciate), BDSM stories (especially ones with creative motivations and femdom stories, though I also want submissive women who aren’t pushovers), stories that blow my mind. I gravitate toward unique, creative characters, settings, and scenarios. I will consider sci fi, fantasy and paranormal stories, but they will not be the focus of this anthology. For an idea of the types of stories I like, see my women’s erotica anthologies Fast Girls or Orgasmic.

Rights: non-exclusive right to publish the story in this anthology in print, ebook and audiobook form. Authors will retain copyright to their stories. Standard Cleis Press contributor contract.

Guidelines: Submit only original, unpublished stories of 1,500-3,500 words that are not being considered elsewhere. I want only original work that has never been published online or in print. All characters must be 18 or over. No poetry. No incest or scat. US grammar (double quotation marks around dialogue, etc.) required. Maximum two submissions per author. Submit to [email protected] by attaching a Word .doc or .docx file, double spaced, Times New Roman black font with legal name, pseudonym (if applicable), mailing address, and 50-word-or-under third person bio on the front page. All stories must have title and byline included with the submission. Indent half an inch at start of each paragraph. Do not add extra lines between paragraphs or use any other irregular spacing; the entire file should be double spaced. If you cannot use Word, please submit as both an RTF AND include the story’s title and text, 50-word-or-under third person bio and legal name, pseudonym (if applicable) and mailing address in the body of an email. DO NOT submit alternate versions of the same story twice; only the first submission will be considered. Submissions that don’t conform to my guidelines will not be considered.

Hi, Rachel. Since I'm not a Cleis author, I have no idea what the standard contract entails. Are there any details an author should know before subbing?

Also, can you please clarify what the anthology pays, whether it's flat-fee or royalty based, etc.? I have several possibilities with completed drafts that I'd be interested in subbing if conditions are right.

Thanks for the post!

Maryn, whose mom taught her please and thank you

Best Women's Erotica 2015 guidelines

My apologies for the delay in replying. I'm not as active here as I should be but if you want an urgent answer about Best Women's Erotica 2016 questions, email [email protected] - I check that daily. The book is open to women authors only, as the Best Women's Erotica series has always been.

Payment for the book is $100/story plus 2 copies, within 90 days of publication. As of now, all I know about the pub date is it will be in 2016, though most likely it will be in January or February 2016.

The contract specifics non-exclusive ebook, print and audiobook rights to include the story in the anthology as a whole.

Circlet Press

Journey to the Center of Desire: Erotic Retellings of Jules Verne
Edited by J. Blackmore

Deadline: July 31, 2015

At Circlet, we like us some smutty steampunk. We can’t stop ourselves from publishing it. This time, however, we want something a little different. Jules Verne’s scientific romances helped build the culture that is modern steampunk, and we’ve decided to go back to these roots and get our sexy on with them! So, send us your erotic stories based on the work of Jules Verne. And no, this does not mean any steampunk stories you already have kicking around. We need stories based on Verne’s work, so your story must contain Vernian characters or settings, or be an erotic retelling of a Verne story. However, that leaves you a lot of room to play! You can choose one of his better known works for inspiration, like Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, or one of his later, crankier works, like The Floating Island. Give us the sex Verne was too afraid (or distracted) to include!

Submission Details

Length: Our preferred length is approximately 3,000 to 7,000 words, but we will consider the range from 2,000 to 8,000 words.

How to Submit: All submissions must be made via email to J. Blackmore, editor, at [email protected].

Submissions sent to other addresses/other editors at Circlet Press will not be considered. Standard manuscript formatting rules apply even though sending as an attachment (MS Word .doc or .rtf preferred). Please note that this means your name, address, and email contact must appear on the manuscript itself and not simply in your email message. (If you’re not sure what standard short story submission format should look like, Google is your friend.)

No simultaneous submissions (that is, don’t also send your story elsewhere at the same time, and don’t send it to multiple Circlet editors, either), and no multiple submissions to the same book. One story per author per anthology.

All stories must include explicit sexuality and erotic focus. Romantic content is welcome, but in a short story remember to keep the details on the action and its effects on the main character’s internal point of view. We favor a strong, singular narrative voice (no “head hopping” or swapping between different character’s points of view within a scene). For more details on our editorial preferences, see the general submission guidelines on circlet.com. We highly recommend reading the guidelines, especially the “do not send” list, to increase your chances of sending us something we’ll love. Try to avoid cliches. Fresh and direct language is preferred to overly euphemistic. Sex-positive, please, no rape/nonconsensuality/necrophilia or other purposefully gross topics. We do not publish horror.

Originals only, no reprints. We purchase first rights for inclusion in the ebook anthology for $25, with the additional rights to a print edition later which would also be paid $25 if a print edition happens. Authors retain the rights to the individual stories; Circlet exercises rights to the anthology as a whole.

Like a Spell: Erotic Stories of Wizards
Edited by Jennifer Levine

Deadline: August 15, 2015

There’s more to the magical arts than wands and love charms and the old, bearded wizard hunched over dusty books. Send us your stories featuring witches, wizards, sorcerers, mages, necromancers, or something we haven’t seen before. Break the traditional high fantasy stereotypes and show us something original, gothic, urban — or stick with the classics but throw in a twist to keep us on our toes. The story MUST have a magic user as a main character, MUST have an element of fantasy or science fiction, and MUST have EXPLICIT, hot sex that is necessary to moving the story and plot forward.

Submission Details

Length: Our preferred length is approximately 3,000 to 7,000 words, but we will consider the range from 2,000 to 8,000 words.

How to submit: Send .rtf, .doc, or .docx via email to Jennifer Levine, editor, at [email protected].

About the editor: Jennifer Levine is the Managing Editor of Circlet Press, where she mostly wrangles other editors into submission (and some authors, too). Other Circlet anthologies she has edited include Like a God’s Kiss, Apocalypse Sex, Masked Pleasures, and What Happens at the Tavern Stays at the Tavern.

Only email submissions are accepted. Submissions sent to other addresses/other editors at Circlet Press will not be considered. Standard manuscript formatting rules apply even though sending as an attachment (MS Word .doc, .docx, or .rtf preferred). Please note that this means your name, address, and email contact must appear on the manuscript itself and not simply in your email message. (If you’re not sure what a standard short story submission format should look like, Google is your friend.)
